King Sombra's Fantastic Movie 10: Sick Sombra · 7:58pm Oct 11th, 2022
King Sombra’s Fantastic Movie 10: Sick Sombra is a low-budget animated film and the tenth installment in the King Sombra’s Fantastic Movie series of films.
Plot: King Sombra comes down with a severe flu-like illness. Radiant Hope tries to get him to go to the doctor, but he refuses even though he becomes more and more ill and eventually reaches the point of delirium.
Why This Film Will Make You Sick:
- Terrible, crappy animation.
- A very boring, uninteresting, and practically nonexistent plot.
- It is basically a rehash of King Sombra’s Fantastic Movie 4: King-Sized Cancer, since that film’s plot also revolved around Sombra being sick.
- Disgusting visuals such as the snot pouring from Sombra’s nostrils and the chunky vomit he pukes up.
- Sombra acts very immature as he decides to spread his illness to everyone else to make them miserable along with him instead of doing the right thing and staying away from others.
- Sombra treats Radiant Hope horribly even though she is trying her best to help him.
- It rips off the main conflict of the Spongebob Squarepants episode, “Suds,” in which Spongebob is sick but wants to avoid going to the doctor.
- Lots and lots of filler -- it would have worked better as a short than as a 90-minute film.
- It’s never explained how Sombra even got sick in the first place.
- Some of the animation is even recycled from previous films!
- Major plot hole: Sombra refuses to go to the doctor in this film, yet he had no problem seeing a doctor in the fourth film. This is a huge inconsistency with his character.
- The entire second half of the movie is just Sombra’s bizarre hallucinations as he becomes delirious and loses his mind.
- There’s a whole scene where the delirious Sombra tries to have sex with a chair.
- The voice acting is awful.
- Lots of animation errors, such as Radiant Hope being drawn with wings in one scene despite being an ordinary wingless unicorn.
- Bland and uninspiring title.
- Nothing happens for the first 20 minutes of the film, and we only start to see Sombra get sick after about 25 minutes.
- It doesn’t really do anything creative or original, unlike the previous films which are at least different and unique.
- The ending is very predictable, as it turns out Radiant Hope brings Sombra to the doctor while he is in a coma, and he ends up getting better.
- Stupid and awkwardly-written dialogue.
- Sombra’s fever dream sequence goes on and on, and bizarre things happen such as him interacting with characters such as Jafar, Elmo, and Caillou.
Redeeming Qualities:
- Radiant Hope is likable in this movie.
- There are some funny moments here and there.
- It explains how Sombra was able to appear in both Aladdin 7 and Nightmare On Sesame Street 2, as his involvement in the events of those films were probably just caused by his hallucinations.
- The visual effects used for the hallucination sequence are fairly decent.
Trivia:
- It’s one of the shortest films in the series, being only around 90 minutes.
