Spoiler! The full bracket! For the ones who want to see and make their prognostics.
For info, the matchups were randomly made. Even I didn't know who would end up fighting who before I did it.

Some of those are really interesting matchups. I understand they're randomly generated, but I really like the matchups between characters who have similar powers, like Poo and Magolor, or Rillaboom and Meganium, or Fox and Jolteon (they're similar because they're both fast), or even Falco and Decidueye. I also think the Phantom versus Sonic battle is going to be neat, because Sonic fought Infinite in Sonic Forces. I look forward to seeing how things will be different this time.
Oh God Kirby and Sweetie are on opposite sides of the bracket. Assuming they both make it to Grands, that'll be a hell of a match. As for my predictions...
For the left side of Round One, I think Mario edges out a win over Cinderace. Both are fire users and a champion's Cinderace probably has some type coverage on its side, but Mario just has a more versatile kit. Phantom and Sonic will probably be a close match, but I do think Phantom has the edge here. Plus, they're a main character, so they have plot armor. Krystal and Link could go either way, especially with Link being a child, but I do think that the Hero of Time will probably come out on top. Greninja probably edges out a win over Yoshi, and Fox & Jolteon is a toss-up, I feel. Fox will probably take it, but Jolteon'll make him work for it. Apple Death almost assuredly wins over Samus. If this was post-Dread she might have a chance, but as it stands now Apple Death's powers are just too versatile and destructive for Samus to edge out a victory. As much as I like Serperior (it's my favorite Pokémon) someone had to get a terrible matchup Round One to face Kirby, unfortunately. Kirby wins that match. I also think Luigi will probably triumph over Lulla, if only because of experience.
Now on the right side of bracket, Falco probably takes the win over Decidueye, if only from pure speed. Falcon just got a terrible matchup and Sweetie'll likely stomp him. Mags takes it over Poo, and Empoleon vs Zoroark is interesting. Neither has a type advantage, but I think Empoleon has the edge. Its pretty tanky and nothing in Zoroark's kit is really able to break though, and an Empoleon without a 4-move limit is probably going to be running Brick Break. DK vs Pikachu I think I've gotta give to Donkey Kong. Pika wins the MU in Ultimate, but given their cannon powers DK's just too strong. Tails given access to all his gadgets probably takes it over Incin, and Rillaboom vs Meganium is another neat one. Both are Grass starters, but by stats alone I think Rillaboom takes it; Meganium works best in as a support build. And Ness I think takes the win over Diddy.
On to Round Two assuming I got those correct, first up would be Mario vs. Phantom. Phantom wins, hands down. For Link vs Greninja I think Link probably takes it, and regardless of who wins between Fox and Jolteon, Apple Death stomps either. Kirby obviously wins over Luigi and Sweetie over Falco, and I think Magolor would take out an Empoleon pretty easily as well. Then Tails wins over DK and Ness over Rillaboom.
For Quarter Finals I do think Phantom probably triumphs over Link. Kirby probably takes it over Apple Death, but if he's limiting himself it'll be hard fought. The Sweetie vs Magolor runback ends in Sweetie's favor, and I think Ness can probably take out Tails.
For Semis, I think Kirby would be able to just barely edge out a victory over Phantom. They're prone to underestimating their opponents and overestimating themselves, even in situations like this, and Kirby's just absurdly powerful. On the other side of bracket, Sweetie and Ness will probably end in Sweetie's victory, leading to a Sweetie vs Kirby Grands.
Grand finals will be a spectacle, though if either goes all-out all bets are off. Purely going by base forms, I do think Kirby could actually win this, but if he goes Stella Knight and Sweetie uses everything except her Soul form, it's a toss-up.

As far as I know, without Fire Flowers or other such items, Mario doesn't use fire excepted in Superstar Saga. Same for Luigi with electricity. So elemental-wise, the two brothers are actually neutral. And Link may be in his child form but this is post Majora's Mask Link, so he has the masks to help him, including this mask.
If we are going by the Obvious Rute,Apple Death,Phantom,Kirby and Sweetie Void are going to be the Finalists with Either Sweets or Kirby Winning. that Being say, Everything can Happens. the Fights no doubt are gonna be Incredible either way.
In real tournaments, there's something called "seeding" where they try to ensure a grand finals worthy of the name by putting the favorites to win as far away from each other on the brackets as they can. In that regard, the only issue is that Apple Death is going to fight Kirby in the quarter-finals instead of the semifinals. I'd have moved both her and her first-round opponent over to the quadrant that currently lacks a title character, but then move that actual match to the second round so that Samus gets one fight each in her Power Suit and Zero Suit (Apple Death has one of the most obvious ways to remove the former).

Yeah, that was the most important bit. Now that I think about it, having Phantom's first round against one of the few people who've actually dealt with her powerset before is also a problem; that fight is going to be a lot cooler than her next two. Mario and Cinderace are both primarily close-range combatants; their projectile game technically exists, but it's far too slow and/or telegraphed to deal with a teleporting illusionist. As for her quarter-finals, Krystal and Greninja would have something resembling a chance against her but I don't like either's odds against even a young Link.

Sure, but this is an especially bad matchup for him. Phantom is fast, flies, teleports, and uses "illusions" that can harm you as if they were the real thing. It's the classic problem of D&D "anti-mage" prestige classes, where Mario may technically be able to beat her in a fair fight but has no real way to prevent her from staying well outside his attack radius while drowning him in expendable minions. And she's more than pragmatic enough to take advantage of that.
Greninja has his Naruto bull**** to basically do the same sort of thing Phantom is doing but less effectively, while Krystal can be presumed to have the standard-issue laser weapons of her galaxy that will be much harder to dodge than a fireball that doesn't even really go upwards. Neither will be nearly as effective against Link, although I'm not sure how well the lighter Kokiri shield will hold up against sustained fire from energy weapons. That's usually the domain of the Mirror Shield. Greninja is definitely being forced into melee, at which point they're dealing with either a wooden sword (Grass-Type) or a Sacred one (capitalization to invoke the Fighting-type move).
If Link wins his first round, Phantom will get one good fight in her first round and then have an easy ride to the quarterfinals where she gets squashed in turn by whichever of Kirby or Apple Death won that fight; she's the weakest of the title characters by enough of a margin that her ruthlessness doesn't quite make up the difference.

I'm honestly not sure of which way you are talking about, because Apple Death has a lot of potential ways to destroy the suit. Are you talking of draining the suit's energy? Or taking possession of it?
