Continuation and Chronicles Part 27 will launch this weekend · 8:29pm Aug 17th, 2022
Lock and load, and ready your heavy weapons, folks. A fresh chapter of Feathered Hearts - C&C is on the way within days. I find the words for it coming a lot more readily than Harmonic Resonance, whose climactic chapter remains unfinished at a whopping 16k words and is very likely at this point to be broken up again. But I’ll address that separately, as C&C appears to be giving me the break from HR I need.
As for what to expect, it would appear that I lied before. I said previously that this new chapter would end by catching up with the original story’s escape to Aricia at the end of chapter 9, but it’s now apparent to me that this will require a two-parter to do properly, and as such the first part will be 100% original content again.
For those curious, the intended tone of this new chapter will be one of heart-pounding suspense with an outright horror movie vibe at times. It will pick up right where the last one left off, with Fortrakt and Gilda departing. You may recall that they’ll be attempting to deliver the Ibexian summoning crystals to the next two steadholts towards Aricia, which they’ll use as stepping stones for their trapped force at Bale to escape the Cloven and reach the safety of the city.
Suffice it to say, no plan survives contact with the enemy, and this one will be no different. I considered releasing a teaser with this blog, but I’ll decline because there’s several surprises I don’t want to give away. Expect a release on Sunday morning, US eastern time. Prereaders, stand by to receive the new chapter draft, likely as soon as tonight. And for regular readers, thank you for patience and waiting this long for the story to continue. Hopefully the wait will be worth it.
Looking forward to it
