Hello everyone and I'm glad that you're all back for the Question of the Week.

I'm still working on the Neo Somnambula concept and as seen in many cyberpunk stories, cybernetic augmentation is a major(ish) element. Now while Rich-Corp as well as Flim Flam Industries are planned manufacturers of such augmentations, I feel that there should at least be a few other corporations responsible for making cybernetics.

I know for a fact that there might be a changling company that secretly makes some cybernetics as well.

Here is what we know about the cybernetics from these companies:

• Rich-Corp: expensive but extremely sturdy. Chances are the cybernetic you bought will outlive you and your kids.
• Flim Flam Industries: more affordable... But also known to break down more easily. Pray to Flim and Flam that they will suite your needs and... Not spontaneously explode (if so, then break it off and throw it at somepony you hate).
• Unknown Changeling Business???: more insectile in nature. Is designed for stealth and being able to climb on walls. Sold usually on the black market.

So my question is, can you think of any other companies that make cybernetics for the citizens of the city and what quirks/gimmicks do those augments have?

Pinkie Pie and co make some ‘unauthorized’ after-market additions, adding balloons, cake slicers, and confetti launchers to any of the cybernetics.

I don't know the full scope of the lore, but you could do something like Red Heart Prosthetics. A medical technology institute that focuses on cybernetic protheses aimed at the sick and elderly. Experimenting is using viable but cheaper materials to make their prosthetics more affordable to the less affluent like 3d printing, ceramics or complex plastics.

cybernetics that are stolen or scavenged from scrapyards/dustbins/dead bodies reused and usually repurposed. Usually civilian grade stuff which gets modified by thieves or other darker elements to have a few weapons like a knife or a spell shooter. Not great but very cheap due to danger of the cybernetic blowing up failing. found only on black market and not legal at all

Omega tech: Unknown designer, unknown material used for construction, has extremely dangerous weapons which use unknown magic or sciences(atomic radiation), used by golems that guard various important places in the desert, usually far away from civilization. Omega does not exist. Do not search for it. Do not listen to someone claiming to be omega. Do not go into the desert out alone at night.
