Here’s To Those Who’ve Come And Gone · 3:39pm Jun 30th, 2022
Idk if im alone in this but every once in a while I look back through the annuls of fimfic.net history and I smile and enjoy a nostalgia trip of sorts.
There are an insane amount of authors I have seen come and go and there are a ton of unfinished stories on here now. I myself am a victim of unfinished stories but thats beside the point.
I find myself missing authors like Crystal Wishes, or StreakTheFox. Authors I remember from over 10 years ago that have either left entirely of their own volition, or were forced to leave to to outside circumstances. Some of their works still survive and some don’t.
And we can’t pretend that the fandom has died down a lot in the past few years. I’ve seen stories on here that use to get hundreds of thousands of views a day, and now the most I see some stories get is 10k-30k average.
It definitely makes me a little sad to see things dwindle in such a way, but I also know that nothing lasts forever and that we should never try to stay in the past.
Kind of a long blog post, but are there any authors that are no longer writing or are no longer around that you really miss?
Honestly? Yes. Yes there are,
I miss Zamairiac and his Come Back To Me story which was really good.
However, he has let me re-write it and change things.

Ah yeah I remember him. Miss him too. Lot of good writers left
Taw, Alexstrazsa, Obselescence, and a lot more actually.![](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/pinkiesmile.png)
Codex Ex Equus ragequit fanfiction over their hatred of the series finale. They've since gone back to making comics over on DeviantArt, if I recall correctly, but they haven't logged onto FiMFiction since 2019, and they went so scorched-earth in the immediate aftermath that I feel too burnt by them to keep reading anyway. A shame, too; I really enjoyed their stories.
Darth Link 22, one of the writers who got me into this fandom in the first place, passed away unexpectedly in late February of this year. He still had a lot of unfinished stories, and the week before it happened, he uploaded a new chapter to one of the longer-dormant ones, then blogged about his eagerness to start "publishing normally again". Thinking about it still kinda upsets me.

Rest in peace Darth Link 22

I remember Alexstrazsa and Obselescence. I downloaded a few of their fics.
