TrotCon, Moonlight, and how to write professional speedfics

First off, I wanted to thank everyone who read and commented on Moonlight. It's definitely my favorite story I've written yet, and it was great to see it get such a positive reception. As far as a sequel goes, I have no plans at the moment, but I might revisit it later for a short story or oneshot. The dream setting opens up a lot of possibilities, and that made it a really fun story to

    I will never sleep

Looks like I'm starting another fairly long multi-part story against my better judgement. I know exactly what I'm getting myself into. I will probably regret this in a few months.

Anyway, it's based on an idea I've been working on for a few months. I'll try to post chapters on a fairly regular schedule, unless life gets in the way.

Stay tuned for terrible things happening to Scootaloo.

    Weekly Writer's Workshop

I'll be doing an interview at 3 PM (EST) today on the Weekly Writer's Workshop with Golden Vision. We'll be talking about that one story I wrote that a lot of people read, as well as tips for aspiring writers. It's the perfect thing to listen to if you're trying to write a story, but don't want to actually work on it, so you're

    A Cutie Mark Crusaders Christmas!!

I guess that "A Cutie Mark Crusaders Hearth's Warming Eve" would be more accurate, but it doesn't have the catchy alliteration.

I just finished a new story and submitted it, so it should be up on the site pretty soon!

Bizarre Fantasylands · 4:33pm Feb 20th, 2012

I've had this idea in my head since November, so it's really just coincidence that this morning in my "Great Books I" class we were discussing the Lais of Marie de France and some recurring themes in medieval romances. Things like children being separated from their parents at birth, and the protagonists leaving the normal world and heading into a (usually metaphorical) otherworld. Kind of like how Lyra is now in some exciting, bizarre, colorful fantasyland where anything can happen, instead of being in Equestria.

In other news, I submitted my short story to the FEBRUARY WRITE-OFF!! Actually, I submitted it yesterday. Just in time for them to extend the deadline by 24 hours. Oh, well. I suppose I could have refined my story a bit more, but my friends have said it's pretty good as it is so I'll just see how it goes.

Anyways, there needs to be more humanized Lyra fanart. At least, there needs to be more SFW humanized Lyra fanart that I can post on this blog. But here you go:

Needs more hands. O.O Lyra needs to meet Shiva.

More NSFW Humanized Lyra than SFW Humanized Lyra?

It's by gomigomipomi, who has a series of drawings like this for the mane six and some of the popular background ponies.

I like Lyra with brown/tan pants.

Nice tatoos on both of her hands. Speaking of which, Lyra's clothing and coloring are striking enough to be noticed. I mean, if I saw someone with those colors on the street, I'd take notice.

what program did they use?
