My Thoughts on MLP G5. · 10:08pm May 27th, 2022

After MLP G4 ended with 'The Last Problem' which was the final episode, we all immediately missed the show. When the creators(I hate them now) decided to make G5, there was no passion behind the idea. Merely money for Hasbro to make.

They also fucked up after Transformers Prime ended and gave us Robots In Disguise in return for that. It's incredibly insulting. Transformers Prime and Friendship Is Magic both told stories. Prime told stories of human companions to autobots. Transformers Prime wasn't your ordinary run of the mill TV show, it had passion, creativity, humor, dark moments, sad moments and a bittersweet ending.

The same can be said for Friendship Is Magic. It told the story of Twilight Sparkle, The Mane 6 and the spread of Friendship. Instead of giving us G5, they could've continued with the Student Six and could've shown episodes about the students learning about friendship through experience rather than through lessons.

It would've paid a better tribute to Friendship Is Magic than A New Generation did. I'm not bashing or complaining about the actors for G5, it's not their fault. If only Lauren Faust returned, she could fix this whole mess.

In 'A New Generation' we see Twilight and the Mane 6 briefly for a second as a flashback and then it takes us to the future of Equestria with Sunny, Hitch and Sprout.

I feel that it disrespects G4 and Friendship Is Magic. They ruined what could've perfectly been a good sequel by destroying all of Twilight's work as the princess through making G5. They had the tribes disbanded and enemies for starters which is just an insult to Twilight and her hard work of spreading friendship to other species like dragons, griffins, changelings, etc.

I know it's just a show and fiction, but it's also disrespecting those who worked on episodes for Friendship Is Magic. I mean, Lil Cheese, Screwball and possible future kids of the Mane 6 are never presented at all and instead G5 replaces it.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I can ever like A New Generation as much as I did Friendship Is Magic. Even IDW comics has ended making FIM comics as well. Not to mention quality of animation has gone down. We can all agree with that because of Pony Life's level of animation. Are they on a new strict budget or something? Because it feels that way.

If I were the owner of the MLP franchise, I'd expand on the story by giving the Mane 6 children of their own, creating adventures and friendship lessons for them. Our kids(if anyone here has any) could've been raised on that and it would have created a newer and better generation than ours. Would it not? Who is in agreement with me?

Friendship Is Magic will always surpass A New Generation. G1, G2 and G3 were also as good as Friendship Is Magic.

I needed to get this out of my head. I'm sorry for venting this.

Personally, I liked the G5 movie better than the G4 movie. And while I agree that Friendship is Magic is the superior series, I don't think expanding the story to focus on the Mane 6's children would be a good idea, as it would've made the story far more complicated than it needs to be.

Though, that's just my thoughts on the matter. I think it's best to judge a show after it left its mark, and not while it's still marking.

In a way, both Transformers Prime and Friendship Is Magic raised me. Now, my kid would grow up with shitty TV shows made by Hasbro with only the desire for money in their hearts.

I'm going to raise my kid on G1, G2, G3 and G4/Friendship Is Magic.

Lauren Faust truly knew what she was doing making FIM as a show.
