”Word around the street is that the raiders present in South River have been challenged by a rival group. The public is getting more and more restless waiting for something exciting to happen in this run-down town. It’s not like we’ve done much rebuilding despite having plenty of chances to. Seems that the grip the raiders have is too strong, and we simply haven’t gotten the chance.
“This will probably only serve to delay rebuilding efforts more. So, who knows what’ll happen next. It may very well end up being a sort of situation, flash! Bam! Alakazam! And everything is gone. Not unlike our next song. But word of advice, if you see an orange colored sky, please just do yourself a favor and hide, even worse if it’s green. This is Cover Version signing out!”
Dashie here, and the Discord server for the audio drama, now entitled ‘The Radio of the Apocalypse’ is officially finished! At least for now. I still don’t know if I’m going to include song parodies (there’s a lyricist role just in case), but I am looking for writers, musicians who can create ambient music, artists to draw any scenes, and voice actors for any other characters, such as the higher-ups and other miscellaneous characters such as interviewees. Everyone will be credited, though as far as this being a paying gig, that’s unlikely to happen anytime soon.
This entire project could crash and burn, I don’t know, but it’s been something I’ve been wanting to do. I wanted to wait until I finished my Digital Media project to do it, and since that’s finished, might as well!
So the main idea is that a DJ, Cover Version, will be running a radio show, it’s not a very exciting corner of the wasteland, until a lone wanderer walks into the area. The lone wanderer is a bit of an anti-hero, so everyone in the syndicate (including Cover Version) all see a golden opportunity and take it, and start following the lone wanderer as they discuss what the character’s doing live on their show and discuss the show behind closed doors.
