The Night's Stars December 2021 Update · 8:10pm Dec 30th, 2021
It’s been a while since I’ve published anything or made any blogs, and 2021 is almost over, so here’s the final update for the year.
I have not been as productive over the past few months as I wanted. I have about 27 drafts finished which is an increase of maybe 2 since I last made a blog about it, and one of them is a “short chapter” around 5,000 words long, which needs work, along with all the rest of it. Staying motivated is hard. I could go into more details but it’s better that I don’t. Maybe I’ll actually finish this story next year/someday.
500 Likes is hard to believe, but apparently that’s what I get for Christmas on Fimfiction. It’s a milestone I should celebrate but it’s still hard to accept as real; the story doesn’t feel like it’s that good, possibly because of how long it’s dragging on. I might do something for this in the next few weeks, but I’m not sure what aside from a Q&A session or something. Maybe I’ll actually try making art to celebrate it but I’ve not had the motivation to do anything related to that for a while, and I’m not particularly good at it.
Tentatively planning to publish the next chapter on the 13th, following that I’m not sure what because I think I need to draft a short little chapter after it. Hindsight, where one realizes that it would be beneficial to include something you didn’t think of and aren’t sure you are capable of writing in quality.

I think you're being too hard on yourself. It is a damn good story. Perfect? No, but nothing is.
This story is quite the accomplishment and you should be proud of that. A story getting 500 likes it nothing to scoff at. One of my absolute favorites of this site is Appledashery with well over 1 million words and it currently sits at 770 likes. You have a good story here and it obviously something you've worked hard at. That alone is something to be proud of.
Keep it up if you're enjoying it. If you aren't, well there is no point to do something that is suppose to be fun and relaxing if aren't even enjoying it.
