Friendship is Card Games: Kenbucky Roller Derby #2 & #3

We return to the cutthroat world of G5 roller derby, where Sunny’s trying her darndest to prove she’s more than just a casual skater… and has assembled one of the most ragtag teams of misfits this side of the Mighty Ducks in the process. Let’s see how the story’s developed from there.

    Swan Song

No, not mine. The Barcast's. The last call is currently under way, and if you want to hear my part in the grand interview lightning round, you can tune in at 4:20 Eastern/1:20 Pacific (about an hour from this posting.)

Yes, 4:20 on 4/20. No, I do not partake. Sorry to disappoint. :derpytongue2:

    Pest List

Just something I whipped together for fun one day, set to a possibly recognizable tune, all intended in good fun. And hey, given that I derived my Fimfic handle from a misremembered detail of the Mikado, it's only appropriate. :derpytongue2:

Friendship is Card Games: d20 Pony, Ch. 9, Pt. 1

Goodness, it’s been almost two years since I last checked in on Trailblazer’s adventures. IDW putting out comics almost as quickly as I could review them will do that, especially given all of the G5 video media coming out concurrently.

    Conflicted Crossroads

I have an interesting dilemma with an upcoming story, and thus I turn to the Fimfic public (or that portion of it that sees these blogs) for its wisdom.

Friendship is Card Games: d20 Pony, Ch. 4 · 12:56pm Dec 5th, 2021

It’s time for more from Trailblazer, and this time the story’s really getting into high gear.

While the early bits in Ponyville are fun (and also helpfully set a point in the timeline; Twillight has both her wings and her castle) the meat of the story begins with the Oracle of Starfalls Town calling in both Trailblazer and Moonflower, the latter of whom is said Oracle’s chosen successor.

(Also, I do appreciate a bat pony oracle saying “A new dusk is on the horizon.” As with Moonflower having to remember to see “good morning” rather than “good evening,” it’s a lovely little reminder of how a nocturnal society flips some things on their heads.)

But this isn’t one of those cushy inexorable destinies. No, Moonflower may have the potential to be the next Oracle of her clan, but she has to prove her worth first. And that requires her to venture to Yggdrasil.

As a side note, this Equestria has a Yggdrasil. And is apparently on a post-Ragnarok Midgard. Well, it is according to Discord, anyway. In any case, it’s off to an epic quest!

… Right after a round of Temples & Titans, and hanging out at the beach with newfound friends. But the latter’s in Chapter 5. For now, let’s see what I can make of this installment.

If it's any consolation, there's zero indication that the royal sisters are literal children of the Norse pantheon, and the realms are divided along CRPG elemental lines rather than a D&D alignment axis. (Plus Harmony, not Law, opposes Chaos.)

Ratatoskr did manage to survive the war, though.
