“I like what they’ve done with this place. Everyone looks so… different,” Midnight mused as she wandered around the changeling hive. “…has it really been this long since the explosion?”
“Believe it or not, it really has been six years,” Mitchell answered with a chuckle.
“Yeah… six whole years,” Thistle murmured monotonously.
Midnight’s face fell a little. “…Is she okay?”
“She’s fine. She’s just a bit… overwhelmed. Still trying to grasp this whole situation.”
Thistle sighed, before turning to Midnight. “Well, see, I’ve been having a lot on my mind ever since Mitchell told me you were alive all these six years… first of all, how did you survive that dynamite explosion?”
“Well, simple. I used a teleportation spell at the right time.”
“You did…?”
“Yeah. Though, my hoof was broken and bleeding quite a bit from being lodged in that door, but surprisingly it was patchable.” She gestured to the layers of bandages and the stitches on her right back leg.
“Yeesh. That had to have hurt…”
“It did…”
Thistle could only stay silent, still thinking to herself.
A broken leg wasn’t quite the same as an amputated one.
