Gonna be streaming Sam and Max on Twitch

so, as the title says, I'm gonna be streaming Sam and Max Save the World Episode 5 on Twitch after I get a bite to eat, but while I do that, check out my twitch stream account. When the stream does start, refrain from asking anything in relation to my fanfictions here please. I will pick back up on them. Just need to deal with some real life issues at the moment.

I Need To State Something. · 8:47am Nov 8th, 2021

So, I know I put out some positive thinking about My Little Pony A New Generation in some of my previous blogs and it's been a while since the moive came out and other stated their thoughts. But I do need to state something I do see negative about the show.

The show is mirroring the politics and problems facing our world today far too closely, and that feels concerning. I could explain all the underlying messages we can find, but that would take a while, and at some points, the movie does feel a bit like it is trying to be an influencer in some negative aspects.

But I really hope that the show breaks away from this. Movies and shows of fictional worlds of the past used to just let the imagination run wild. Worlds outside our own broke away from what was going on. They made their own rules. They were an escape from our world. A safe haven to ease our troubled minds. To let us hold on to childhood innocence. To give us that feeling that we were in another world altogether. They didn't have to make sense and mirror what the real world was. But nowadays, it feels that most of our current films and shows are trying to be more like documentaries, and less like a fantasy land.

Instead of having "A daring knight be brave and battle a fearsome dragon, and win the day with barely a scratch using hidden talents", now we have "The knight is gonna have to be broken and barely survive the battle with the dragon, and the dragon is not beaten entirely, but enough that it can only take it's leave to terrorize another town that doesn't have such bravery." The story tellers sacrifice creativity for realism. That's what if feels like at this point, and that was one aspect of this film that I felt was heavily imposed on this movie. While the movie wasn't downright trash, the fact that creativity was sacrificed for realism, knocks down this movie a few pegs.

I am not saying this to agree with other people, these are just my person view points about some errors the movie has and I don't ask anyone to agree with me, this is just the negative aspects I see in the film.

The political undertones and realism were definitely problems for me when I saw the movie, but thankfully they weren't as bad as I thought they would be. They were mostly toned down, and I'm hopeful they won't creep into the upcoming show too much.

The show is mirroring the politics and problems facing our world today far too closely, and that feels concerning.

Is it actually mirroring the problems in our world, or perhaps you're not seeing the actual issues plaguing our world? The movie dealt with racism only and a touch of false news/ information.

Well, I'll admit, at first glance, with the positivity of the main cast, you don't catch much, but the deeper I paid attention to the film, the more undertones I saw. I don't want to try and explain everything. The movie itself was entertaining, I'll admit, but for me, because I have seen a lot of the world and had my own experiences, the underlying messages don't affect me as much. I honestly am more concerned about how it may affect the target audience. While they are trying to express a positive message, there are some parts that the target audience may take the wrong interpretation from, and pretty much contradict the positive message.
