    derailment

the road to hell is paved with good intentions. my good intentions were earnest, however life hasn't stopped throwing curve balls my way since i ended up with covid in august. unfortunately this has led to heavy delays for penalt, and despite his saintly levels of patience while i try to navigate a very rocky life patch it has caused my work to grind to a complete stop. i am unsure when i will be

    covid! ugh!

luck can't last forever, and after three years of doing my best to remain diligent the plague decided to fight me for keeps. i'm on the road to recovery now, but it's been a rather sucky week to say the least. by the grace of the chaotic gods i was at least speedy on working on brightly lit for pen, at least once it was shoved under the doorjamb to my office :rainbowlaugh:

    stories! excitement?

so, figured i'd get this out of the way - finem solis is not the song story i've been fussing with on occasion for the past few months. that was a surprise moment of inspiration which caused the words to flow from my fingertips like water and finished up within about an hour or so of me starting if not less.

    check-in

been a few months since i've written one of these, so i figure it's time to do another entry. after my stint in the desert it took me a few weeks to fully recover, and then aside from one hiccup i've been back to editing pen's works and twiddling my thumbs. i did in fact finish a story and then wrote a whole other one (shattered roses, my star wars fic), but other than that i've mostly been

autumn update · 6:17am Nov 2nd, 2021

hey everyone. soooo i figured since it's been a couple months now, i'd give y'all another update. been managing post burnout life, as i discovered about a month ago that's why i've been so exhausted since basically october 2020. burn out, and a hell of a lot of it. i was so used to being stupidly busy that i've been learning what to do with myself without piling so much onto my plate i become a nervous wreck.

my schedule's been slashed immensely in pretty much every area, i've scribbled a little here and there but have mostly just been editing stories for pen and gaming. treatment for my illnesses has been going pretty nice so far, i'm far enough in now that my tests are showing significant improvement and my doctor is pretty optimistic for the future (again, it's not cancer and no it's not covid).

i kinda fucked up over halloween weekend and did too much, but at least that's behind me until next year so i can manage more reasonable stuff. at least with less unfinished projects on my plate now the concept isn't so daunting to me; really i've just been trying to figure out the battle scenes in the devil you know and how to end in the land of dreams. other than that really crystal storm is just in hiatus as a back burner thing i return to here and there.

i might be able to crank out another one shot at some point in the interim, i'm not sure. was a little distracted cooking up plot bunnies with penalt for a few of his stories and begging pleading cajoling asking for sequels to others. in any case, i haven't forgotten my projects nor any of you. i'm still here.

oh yeah, i also did a 2021 revamp of my profile so now it's all snazzy :raritywink:
