    Adulting is hard.

Buying a house is hard. Just saying that right now.

    So some minor improvements.

We have a new person at work, and they appear to be getting used to the job quite quickly. My phone, meanwhile, has been fixed, and I have gone to great effort to thank my current phone provider for having so much better customer service than my previous provider.

Househunting is still ongoing, but even that appears to be making some positive progress.

    I don't think it's getting better.

So the good news is that we have a new supervisor at my job. The bad news is that one, the new supervisor is sick with something and her doctors are failing to help her get better, and two, the job is taking its sweet time hiring anyone new. This coupled with various unforeseen factors led to last week being a pain in the hindquarters at work. Plus, my househunting isn't going well, and my phone

I think my job is trying to give me PTSD.

I was awoken by a phone call this morning. Work asked me to come in, as things were crazy. I did so, was there from around 9:30 AM to 6PM. Worked without a lunch break, I might add.

    The Moral Event Horizon.

Gonna discuss another trope today in relation to the Quiververse. In this case, it's the Moral Event Horizon. In simple terms, this is the point a character passes that forever marks them as EVIL and potentially irredeemable. TVTropes itself lists a few examples from FiM, and I won't repeat them here...though I will say that

Just a quick thought regarding headcanons. · 3:59am Oct 1st, 2021

I see nothing wrong with having headcanons. I have headcanons. Sometimes canon even throws me a bone supporting my headcanons, which is awesome. You want to have headcanons? Go for it.

Just don't be a jerk about them. Don't whine when canon comes along and disproves your headcanon (or at least makes it really, really implausible). Roll with the punches and deal with it. I'm not gonna say that the showrunners are always right, mind you, but sometimes they know what they're doing. Sometimes. That's part of the reason why I tend to keep my headcanons to stuff that's not a big stretch, or reasonably plausible within canon, mostly because it saves me trouble later.

I bring this up mostly because one of the Vignettes that I have planned for the future incorporates some headcanon that I have involving Rainbow Dash that I feel is plausible and understandable...and admittedly influenced by another writer. Exactly what that is will remain unknown for the time being, however, but I welcome any guesses.

That's all perfectly fair, and I agree. Nothing wrong with having headcanons, as long as you're not a dick about it.

And I will be interested to see what this Vignette has to do with these headcanons. ^_^

I can assure you, the Vignette will get out there eventually. Though hopefully not too soon.

*Prepares rant about the writers violating canon, including the massive Critical Research Failure that is Gen 5*

I'm not gonna say that the showrunners are always right, mind you, but sometimes they know what they're doing. Sometimes.

...Never mind.

With that out of the way, I agree with your position. If I had to add anything, it would have to be expressing annoyance at those who treat headcanon that's been disproven by the show (and done so in a way that doesn't violate prior canon) as if it were of higher rank than what is established in the show (*coughcoughCelestiaworshipcoughcough*).

I'm annoyed with that sort of thing too. I just try not to let it get my goat.

And as for any perceived disconnects between G4 and G5, I'm willing to be patient and wait for further stories to be released before saying that they forgot established lore. Long enough has passed between the two for Twilight and her friends to be considered ancient history by the time Sunny was born, after all, and a lot can change in one year, let alone several thousand.
