70 Chapters, 40 days. · 8:24am Sep 19th, 2021
And I'm still not finished. I did the estimation, and the story could very well break 85-90 chapters baseline (5k words a chapter average) with 10 epilogue chapters. Tons of plot bouncing, talking, small rewrites, a few dumped chapters (a *few, like... 5) and work keeping me slow, otherwise I'd be done by now. Out of these 40 days (I think it's closer to 38 days), I've spent maybe 2-5 days with less than one chapter's progress each.
To put it into perspective how big Verve is, it's likely to break half a million words, and should include an epilogue to skip rereading Inertia for those less interested. I should really remaster Inertia to be less bad, but that's 39 chapters I don't want to go through right now. I did the math, and it would be around 2,500,000 characters long - excluding spaces, which would put it at 300,000 characters. Or, almost 1/3rd of the length of the world's longest story. Or book. Something. Google says book. Whatever.
Verve is likely to be my last story for ponies - though I might do a followup into one of the Character's past. This is not a promise. The College of Pointed Hats is optional for me, as I want to write a real book, soon.
In other news, if anyone happens to have a spare computer on hand, please throw it my way. I hate Chromebook, and I miss my gaming laptop.
I may set a time limit for myself at... 14 days, and upload 5 chapters a day to keep the train rolling. Maybe. By the time I upload 70, I should have finished the last few chapters.
If anything, I'll dump 20 chapters a day, that way I can get some views. On top of slamming it into every single group I can.
Thanks for reading. <3
