Hello all! You all know I don't post much - but today I bring something special. I've got some great news all around!
43 Chapters are done for Bring the Dawn. It took several months, a lot of rewrites, and patience, but I did it. It's nearly finished. All it needs now is a few rounds of rereads (it's over 120k words) and it'll be ready to hit the shelves. That's right, shelves! Shelves! I'll have paperback, hardback, and digital versions of the book.
I also have an artist working hard to get cover art done for my book. Here's the reference art for the main characters, and I'll also include line art of the cover, too (Colors should be done shortly)
The overall plot of the story is reminiscent of Verve, but far more refined. I adapted a few of the characters (you can't have a book without Vee, wings or not!), because really, Verve was just practice for the real thing.
I'm expecting 2-4 sequels as well. If it does well enough, I'm hoping I'll find a nice publisher contract for the next few books. I give the book an age rating of 13+, and it's not controlled by Hasbro - so that means user generated content can get approval from me for... well, free, if people like it. And not have to worry about DMCA takedowns.
What's unique about Bring the Dawn is that the world I've crafted is designed to be inclusive. It's inclusive because adaptation is greatly enhanced by the magic of the world - so many races and species can evolve to suit the magical planes of the land. If you wanted a character to be a sentient raccoon and exist in the world I've crafted, that's entirely possible.
