Personally, I want him to be reading Matilda, a childhood favorite of mine for many sentimental reasons, but I also like to think Pharynx is reading Matilda because he is allowed to have a larger personality than simply being interested in war. He may choose to explore other book genres than predictable for his type of character.

That would be an interesting choice of him to read. And even more surprisingly, I can see it fitting.

Though, I feel if you told someone who enjoys combat like Pharynx that there are entire books dedicated to the art of warfare I can see him registering for a library card at the neatest library and checking every book in that section out all at once.

And who’s to say he wouldn’t get into some other genres, such as fantasy or sci fi at first just for the mass battles or fights only to end up liking them overall in the end.

…… I can see Pharynx potentially becoming a bigger book worm than Ocellus if given the opportunity.

Oh yes, absolutely! Especially if he found out about Discord's version of "Ogres and Oubliettes!" He'd be thrilled to know he could actually beat up enemies in a game instead of constantly rolling dice!

Other than that, Pharynx definitely has the capability of being a bigger nerd than Ocellus, which is why I like to portray the two acting like pesky siblings to each other. They get along because outside of Pharynx's need for combat, they would have a lot in common, and yet they have such contrasting personalities (book smart and shy v.s gruff and war-ready) that they butt heads when given decisions that need to be made
