Unhelpful notes · 1:51pm Jul 27th, 2021
Falling asleep last night, right on the cusp of sleeping, I suddenly had what I thought was a brilliant idea for a story. Grabbing a pen I sat up and wrote it down, so I wouldn't forget it in the morning.
My scribbled notes say "A place in every heart" and then underneath it just says "good idea for a story! CADANCE IS IMPORTANT have to use third person not first though, Important!"
And nothing else.
I have no clue what my idea was about (though clearly Cadance was involved?), but I do remember thinking it was a really good idea and that I had to write it down immediately. Thanks, Past Cloptimist.
Noel Coward famously had the complete plot of Private Lives come to him when he went to bed one night on tour, but he said in his autobiography that he knew enough by then to not write it down, and to trust that if it was as good an idea as he felt it was, it would come back to him in the morning.
...Evidently this Cadance story idea was not so strong, or alternatively it's just further proof that I am not Noel Coward.
I never trust to good ideas to stick around in my head. If I don't write them down, it doesn't matter how good they are, there's a strong chance I'll lose them, and I have. :C
