Hello, everyone!

Just wanted to provide a little story update/public service announcement.

Into the Deep is coming along nicely, so nothing to worry about. I just haven't gotten around to finishing it yet. I'm aiming to complete it before school starts again. 🤞 It's one chapter and the epilogue that's left. I've written about 50% of what I've planned -- mainly due to some writer's block and a little lack of motivation. I'll finish it when I can. 👍

I wanted to take the time to ask you guys to get vaccinated if you haven't done so already. Getting the COVID vaccine is one of the best things you can do right now to end this pandemic. It gives you so much protection against a virus we know so little about. When a population gets vaccinated, it creates something called herd immunity, meaning that once a certain percentage of a community gets the vaccine, that community is protected against the coronavirus. This percentage is quite high -- maybe 70% or so, which is why it is so important for everyone to get their shot. If only 40% of a population is vaccinated, then the virus will still be able to spread in that community. So, basically, the more people are vaccinated, the less the virus is going to spread: It's the only way we can end this pandemic.

I got the vaccine and I'm perfectly fine. I had some cold-like symptoms for a day after getting my second dose but after that, I've been great. Once you're vaccinated, you can return to pre-pandemic life. Late-night parties, crowded stadiums, vacations with friends. All of that. And it's even safer if you're surrounded by other vaccinated people. The vaccine doesn't change your DNA. It doesn't have a tracking device. And yes, you do need to get vaccinated if you've already gotten COVID. This isn't a political matter. It's a matter of safety. We all just want life to return to normal, and you can play an important part in ensuring that that happens.

The Delta variant is coming and everyone who's not vaccinated is at risk. You can get vaccinated at a local pharmacy, health department clinic, or maybe even a grocery store. You don't have to make an appointment. All you have to do is walk right in and say you're ready for your first dose. It's that easy. :)

Spread the word to your friends, family, and co-workers. Getting vaccinated saves lives, especially yours.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the update and the info.

I am so proud of all of my family because everyone gotten vaccinated. We are just waiting on FDA approval for vaccines for children under twelve and the kiddo will be getting it.

That's great! Everyone in my family is vaccinated too. My younger sister is under 12 as well, so she's in the same boat. :)
