Chapter 6 is Here (That Took Way Too Long) · 5:07am Mar 12th, 2021
Hello, everyone!
I'm happy to announce the release of Chapter 6 of "Into the Deep"! Now, I know what you're thinking, and you're partially right, but I do have a bit of an explanation.
So, Chapter 6 is not exactly what I intended it to be. It's actually about 35% of my original plan. I've written all of what I had planned for Chapter 6 already (thank goodness), but the reason why I'm not publishing it all under the title 'Chapter 6' is because it's too long. That's part of the reason why it's taken me so long to update the story. The rest of the original Chapter 6 will be released as Chapter 7, which needs a bit of editing and should be released by the end of next week. Now, that's for the plan I made a few months ago. Even further back (bear with me here), if some of you remember, I said I wanted to post Chapter 6 and then an epilogue as the final chapters of the story. Well, that original original Chapter 6 is being split into 3 separate chapters. It turned out way longer than what I anticipated. As I said, I've written Chapter 7, but I haven't yet written Chapter 8 (or the epilogue).
The second reason why I haven't posted recently is writer's block. I've always had an outline for the story (and still do), but there's a portion of Chapter 7 that's a bit more insightful than most of the story (and most of what I've ever written). Well, I tried to make it insightful, and that's if I don't change it too much between now and next week. I couldn't think of the exact words that would fit what I wanted to portray, but I think I like what I ended up writing.
The third reason for the delayed update is virtual school troubles and trying to combat AP World History. I was a little behind and wanted to focus on getting some things done for a while.
Nonetheless, those reasons don't really make up for the fact that it's been nearly half a year since I've given you anything to read. I sincerely apologize for my procrastination. 
While I can't promise that Chapter 8 and the epilogue will be published anytime soon, I can at least say they won't take 6 months. At the very most, I'll have them finished by early June (when school ends), but that could very well be sometime in May.
Anyway, I hope that gives you all some information. Thanks for your understanding and support! I hope you enjoy these next few chapters. Things do get kind of crazy.
