Let's Talk: Lightning Streak · 10:33pm Jun 27th, 2021
Hey y'all, and welcome to another of Crystalline's brain dumps! From now on I'm going to use that title to refer to these types of blogs. There will be more of these "Let's Talk" blogs, as I think more about them. But there will be more brain dumps like the ones I did before.
So Lightning Streak.. he doesn't have any speaking roles on the show, nor is he named on the show, so there is a shit ton of room to imagine his character. As for his physical details, I am taking the liberty to make them my own because everypony on the show follows like 3 different designs for mares and 3 for stallions(rough estimate). I am also taking the liberty to build his character to my liking.
Physical Features: He is going to be one of the taller stallions on the team, around the same height as Soarin, who is very tall. In contrast to Soarin however, he is much skinner and much more sleek. He has a toned body, but looks more graceful and more lithe than the other stallions. He is able to handle lightning because of his special talent, but in terms of skills, he specializes in intricate sky designs and complicated maneuvers. He's like a ballerina!
Personality: In almost all the fanfics I've seen that characterize Lightning so far, he's a shameless flirt and kind of air-headed. I honestly like his "I am a flirty god" attitude and every author has managed to make him a lovable and funny character. That being said, when I first tried to get into his character, I imagined him as this sweet, caring dude who could totally be a singer or actor. That sounds so random, but I can 100% imagine him as a country/pop singer who also plays the piano(and or violín). The way I am going to portray him in my stories is this silly, energetic character, who does have pretty bad anxiety, but is still very protective of his teammates and family. He loves them to death and would do anything for them.
Backstory: This backstory is something I just made up for him. He grew up in a more remote area of Cloudsdale with his twin, and the two were very close. He always enjoyed flying and music. Throughout high school, he was very passionate and involved in musical theatre and even through it wasn't his special talent, he wanted to pursue a career in it. Then someday when they were teens (15-16) an accident happened, leaving Lightning with terrible anxiety, and issues being away from his brother. So when Fire decided to join the Wonderbolts, Lightning followed. He grew to love his career and everypony he shares it with.
So yeah. The backstory might be a little vague, but I might do a story on it in the future. I hope you all enjoyed this brain dump entry, and let me know if there are any characters you'd like to see. Next up is Misty Fly. Thank you for reading!
