What If He Wasn’t a Cliche?

Recently I've been thinking about how history's most infamous "waifu thief" Flash Sentry more likeable in the eyes of the fandom. I sincerely doubt that anything could have made them welcome the guy who stole their perfect purple pony princess from Her Royal Majesty Sunbutt with open arms and a twenty-one gun salute that wasn't aimed at his head, but there must have been some way to curb the

    The Owl House Finale

Just finished watching the final episode of The Owl House. There was so much good stuff here, far more than I am able to talk about right now. So instead, I will reveal the one thing that was a disappointment for me:

A Christmas Story: Love it or hate it?

With the most wonderful time of the year just around the corner (or already here if you work in retail), I find my wondering what everyone thinks about Bob Clark's classic movie A Christmas Story. My sister loves it so much that she and her first husband would play it on television all day long on Christmas day and probably other days before that. Our mother dislikes it for, among other

The C.O.W. Boys - the Mesa · 3:50am Jun 22nd, 2021

Some timr ago, I asked if anyone remembered the cartoon Wild West C.O.W Boys of Moo Mesa. Enough of you replied in the affirmative to convince me that it would be worth my time to discuss my vision for a modern reboot. To keep things simple, I will restrict each idea to its own blog post.

The very first issue I would address would be the fact that the setting takes place on top of a single massive mesa. As far as I know, the original show never made an issue over this. My version would adress the fact that whild there would be enough room for mountains and a fully-functuoning society, even a mesa that large would have very limited space and resources, beggingnthe question of what to do when those two things ran out. The backstory would involve a war between a confederacy known as the Pilgrimists who wanted to leave the mesa in search of potentially greener pastures, and the established government, in a vague parallel to the American Civil War. Both sides of the conflict would be very grey in their morality: the Pilgrimists would have a very good point in that the mesa would be unable to support society past two or three more generations, yet be woefully unprepared for the potential dangers that awaited them in the "world below," while the government would be primarily concerned with maintaining its power, but be absolutely right about how it would collapse if more than half its population just packed up and left. Serveral of the character would have fought in this war, playing a major part in their characterization.

Interesting. Would it be set into Equestria?

What?🤨 No, this is an entirely different cartoon in an entirely different universe. I would be ecstatic at a crossover, but that would involve crossing universes.
