Slight 2 week delay · 6:30pm Jun 19th, 2021
Alright now I've a legitimate reason to not be working on the story.
Long story short, I have a family member (who lives by wheelchair) coming to visit me and my family (which is wheelchair unfriendly) and said visitor wants to play tourist around the county: Sea World, Legoland, Zoo/Safari (yes they're two different activities) and go see a few events... The usual "I want to spend almost 1k USD in 5 days" sort of thing.
Thankfully we talked her down from all that to about 3 things, Zoo, one yearly event and Seaworld.... still a bit pricy.
Now I just need to utterly clean out one side of the house, consisting of: moving some hundred pounds of concrete mix, old wood, pvc, now sunblasted and ruined stuff; use said concrete mix to cover in a few planters (which is utterly covered in weeds, bits of trash and is primarily where the sprinkler system is located and oh yes that is getting concreted in, no i do not see the logic; knock down a concrete wall about knee high, throw all that crap to the local dump, and then construct a sort of sun shaded area that will allow my visiting family member to wheel around and enter the household.
All while we're still in a heat wave with the extreme heat warning going on. (Thankfully its just around the 80s and we don't live in desert climate)
ALL of the work is gonna be done on cloudless days where the sun is perfectly situated right on top of every bit of where we are working...
In the period of two weeks....
And we can't hire...
I'll be doing what I can when I have the energy (such as right now after letting you all know) but best of luck I dont get struck silly by the heat in the meanwhile.
Working outdoors in this heatwave sucks. I'm just glad I don't live in Arizona, 120 is about average there.
Good luck! Hope you survive!
105 is average, here
