The Israel/Gaza Situation Has Me Broken

    Already on Step 4

Check this out if you have zero clue what I'm talking about haha.

Did bodyweight squats in front of my physical therapist, and they were good!! Super smooth, great range of motion, and zero tightness for the first few sets. This puts me on step 4 out of 5.

Plan to Cross the Finish Line

Gameplan my physical therapist and I made to overcome my joint issues once and for all. I'd say I'm 90% there, so here is the plan for the last 10%. Primary remaining issue is the left hip weakness causing me to shift much of my weight onto the right hip, which also causes my entire trunk/upper body to twist to compensate for the lean. This messes up my shoulder blade movement as well, leading to

Can Almost See the Light at the End of the Tunnel

After almost a full decade of pain affecting my waking hours, sleep, ability to exercise, and ability to just have fun, I'm almost done!!!!

I define me being done as: Being able to exercise, sleep, stand, sit, lie down, and walk with no pain, instability, or unevenness. It's hard to put a number on a goal like this, but I'd say I'm 85% there.

    Almost Done Beating Genetics

Ughhhhhh why can't I be 100% done, though :raritydespair:

Alright, so despite basically every joint having issues at first, I can minimize the major starting issues to:
    - Right hip tear + instability
    - Left hip tear + instability
    - Left shoulder instability
    - Right shoulder instability

The two bolded ones were the biggest issues. As of now, I have:

Why Must Different Art Styles Exist? · 11:56pm May 30th, 2021

Okay, so confession time. I HATE the show's snout and eye style.

Not because I don't like looking at them. I just find them infuriating to draw :rainbowlaugh: Specifically the nose/mouth attachment.

Case in point: These two pages where I'm practicing quickly drawing expressions.

Yes, I know it's messy. But I originally didn't intend on showing these, so forgive me :rainbowlaugh:

The drawings in the show's style should be obvious. Some of these took me 5 - 10 minutes because of the goddamn snout/mouth. The four, CIRCLED drawings with the starred arrows are in my own style. Same expression, but they only took me 45 seconds to a minute and a half each. What a difference haha.

The show's style when the chracter is facing you is fine, though, since the annoying mouth/nose attachment turns into a cute little circular nose.

For this page, only focus on the circled images. Yes, I know the manes suck, since I added them in afterward in like 5 seconds :rainbowlaugh:. Still, I'm surpsied how quick and easy I find this style compared to the show's. Each took me only about a minute to a minute and a half.

The bottom drawing is supposed to be a pony going "Oooooh" in excitement, but I couldn't find any reference with a similar artstyle. So forgive me again :rainbowlaugh: As always, I like pushing myself to intentionally fail with these.

PSA: Do not lift two days in a row when you're dying from your COVID vaccine :rainbowlaugh: My head is pounding right now haha.

In good news, my wife said I now have "Popeye forearms," so that definitely made my day :yay:

Don't worry about it, the drawing, that is. In a couple of my latest drawings I have been experimenting with trying to draw slightly more realistic noses on the ponies.

Don't panic. A lot of MLP artists don't stick to the art style anyway and develop their own way of drawing ponies.

That's what I've noticed too. Only a small amount actually stick to the show's style.

I'm just mad because it feels like I'm giving up. Big ego gonna big ego haha.

If you must, go with what your big ego says and learn to draw in the MLP art style properly. But I'd just go with the way that you think they should be drawn, or else forget about FiM's art style and learn to draw G5 ponies. Up to you. :)

everyone's artstyle was probably a failed attempt of copying faust's drawings
with a few changes overtime you end up developing your own, either by getting used to the fim style and mastering it, or giving up and getting a new one entirely
