Annual April Post

In ten days, I will have been on this site for nine years. I want to say that makes me part of the old guard or something, but there have been way more people who've been part of the fandom longer than I have.

That makes me... what? Slightly less than old but still pretty darn old guard? Second wave? Pretentious?

Anyway, after my last blog post no doubt left a sad taste in your mouths, things have improved for me. I'm writing again (though still not at the same level I was pre-pandemic/emotional crisis/divorce), and I've decided I need a major change of scenery and will be moving to the Hartford Connecticut region in less than two weeks (any CT readers out there?). My job search has not stagnated though it has not produced great results, but hey, I've got a little time before I need to start sweating.

All in all, April has been a good month. Not easy, but good. Here's to another year, may it be better than the last in every way.

I think after a certain point the Old Guard becomes the Retired Elders, and the folks next after them become the new Old Guard.

Just as well, since all the Thunder Warriors were taken out behind the shed and Old Yeller'd. But if we're doing it like this, I'd compare our timeline to 40k's like so:

• Seasons 1-3: Unification Wars and Golden Age of Humanity
• Seasons 4-5: The Great Crusade
• Season 6: The Haber Heresy
• Season 7: All the Primarchs Tripped Over Rocks or Something
• Seasons 8-9: Decline and Stagnation of the Imperium
• Pony Life: Ultramarines with Multi-Lasers
• G5: Star Child Enters the Materium - The End Times
