The Israel/Gaza Situation Has Me Broken

Ignore if you hate this topic. I avoid social media, and I'd rather rant here than the hellhole that is Twitter :rainbowlaugh:

    Already on Step 4

Check this out if you have zero clue what I'm talking about haha.

Did bodyweight squats in front of my physical therapist, and they were good!! Super smooth, great range of motion, and zero tightness for the first few sets. This puts me on step 4 out of 5.

Plan to Cross the Finish Line

Gameplan my physical therapist and I made to overcome my joint issues once and for all. I'd say I'm 90% there, so here is the plan for the last 10%. Primary remaining issue is the left hip weakness causing me to shift much of my weight onto the right hip, which also causes my entire trunk/upper body to twist to compensate for the lean. This messes up my shoulder blade movement as well, leading to

Can Almost See the Light at the End of the Tunnel

After almost a full decade of pain affecting my waking hours, sleep, ability to exercise, and ability to just have fun, I'm almost done!!!!

I define me being done as: Being able to exercise, sleep, stand, sit, lie down, and walk with no pain, instability, or unevenness. It's hard to put a number on a goal like this, but I'd say I'm 85% there.

    Almost Done Beating Genetics

Ughhhhhh why can't I be 100% done, though :raritydespair:

Alright, so despite basically every joint having issues at first, I can minimize the major starting issues to:
    - Right hip tear + instability
    - Left hip tear + instability
    - Left shoulder instability
    - Right shoulder instability

The two bolded ones were the biggest issues. As of now, I have:

Genetics 3.2.1.4.5.6.11 v 2.8 · 3:45am Apr 17th, 2021

Good news: I can now do single leg squats/lunges with this giant monstrosity of a dumbbell off the highest couch in my house with moderate ease.

And remember, I'm holding this thing with my arms because I hate myself haha. Like this:

The bad news: Eh, instability is still causing me to rotate to my right side. Basically, my left shoulder blade is weak --> Leading my right shoulder blade to be chronically overused and tight --> My entire right side of the body then gets tight, which twists my body in that direction.

It really is annoying haha, though 100x better than even a year ago.

It's mostly annoying because it keeps me from jumping back into MMA. Yes, it's fun looking like I lift and having the musclez, but you know what's cooler than big biceps?

Being able to do shit like this:

Though biceps are fun too :scootangel:

It's just infuriating at times because the body I was born with doesn't want to cooperate... Then again, no complaints, because some people on this very site have it MUCH worse than I do.

Now to keep kicking some ass!

Huk

... how many kilos does that monster weight :rainbowderp:?

5499676

*whips out calculator*

Only 56 kgs

Which really shows how much position makes a difference. I'm holding this in my palms and kinda far out in front of me, so it feels a lot heavier than a 100 kg bar resting over my shoulders in a Front Squat position, for example.

And you're doing the 'lunge' holding THAT :rainbowhuh:?! Holy shit, man, that's fucking awesome :pinkiecrazy:!

When I bought my 2x20 Kg dumbbells, I could barely get them from the courier's car to my home. And I had to drop the weight to 10 Kg for each hand to be able to exercise at all. And you're exercising holding THAT thing? Damn... just... DAMN :raritystarry:!

You have no idea how I fucking hate you right now :rainbowlaugh:!

5499752

As far as I know, you don't have genetic joint issues, so I hate you more :rainbowlaugh:

But thanks! Haha. Though I feel weak as shit, considering I want to at the very least spar intensely in the heavyweight division, which is full of guys like this :

Random, but I thought you might appreciate this story.

I recently nearly gave myself a hernia with these unilateral squats. Weight was around 50kg, so a bit lighter than the one in this pic, but I legit thought I'd ruptured my asshole or something mid-set :rainbowlaugh:

But then of course I continued to keep going after this :rainbowlaugh:

... man, the images in my mind right now... :twilightoops:

Lol, no lie, stuff like this is part of the fun.

The one thing I am scared of, though, is a rectal prolapse. Google at your own risk...

Huk

5507871

(Un)Fortunately, I already knew what that was... :trixieshiftleft: On a probably not-so-related note - did you ever try water fasting? Sorry if that sounds weird but you seem like one of the people crazy enough, and with enough willpower to try it :unsuresweetie:...

5507917

Water fasting for fat loss? Or to clear out "toxins?"

Huk

5507922

The first one, but also out of morbid curiosity (what will happen after 84 hours on the water alone), to train strong will and... to 'connect with your inner self' as some describe it.

I plan to try it from Friday to Tuesday to switch my body to 100% ketosis and see what the hell will happen. Just looking for someone who would give some first-hand tips.

5507949

In that case, I can't say much since I've never done it.

I have done intermittent fasting (regularly up to 18+ hours of fasting at a time), but that's it. You should ask someone who's done this, since I have no experience with it.

Huk

5507953

Gotcha, it was just a thought. If I manage to pull it off, I will share my experiences in a blog :unsuresweetie:.

5507960

I'd be interested in a blog.

You might be a bigger madman than me :rainbowlaugh:
