The Shoe Store · 5:15pm Mar 24th, 2021

It's been a while since I last posted anything in the "Funny Stuff" category, hasn't it?

Well, no matter.

Today, I figured that it wouldn't hurt to show you guys another little something I watch on YouTube every now and then. It's another clip from "The Carol Burnett Show", of course. But, it also features the late Don Rickles and Nanette Fabray as guest stars.

In this video, Rickles plays an employee at a shoe store named Rudolph Mackenzie, the shoe store in question being owned by a man named Mr. Fonsworth, who is played by series regular Harvey Korman. Despite trying to maintain his job, though, Rudolph is prone to angrily yelling and insulting the store's customers, and things can only get worse for him when a snobby customer played by Fabray comes in the mix. And just when Rudolph decides to go all-out in keeping himself composed too.

In all honesty, every time I see this video I can't help but crack up with laughter, the biggest reasons being because of the humor and performances of Rickles and Korman. A lot of times, whenever I watch Rudy on the screen I can't help but see something of myself in him, mainly as a representation of my negative emotions and insecure side. Rickles played the character so well that from that time on, I found him to be a perfect inspiration as a character comedian, particularly because of his improvisation skills, the way he makes even the most unlikable characters likable, and his ability to channel his negative emotions and make anything funny.

Take a look and tell me what you guys think:
