That's right, I'm back. To stay? Maybe. To make an announcement? Definitely
First of all...of all of you following me...to all those that I didn't part with on a bad note I ask how many of you are left? It's been three years since I last posted...probably about five since I last really cared about FiM. And we all know how much can change in three years.
I'm not going to lie, I still don't really have that much love for ponies. But...after reading the legendary Fallout Equestria by Kkat and going back through For The Fatherland, something clicked inside me and I had to come back and check up on this place. I have ideas, like usual, but you know how it is to be yelling at the rain.
I'll be the first to admit it, like I always have: my writing's horrid. Reading through FtF makes me wonder just /why/ so many people actually read it...and gave it so many upvotes. While it definitely has some well deserved downvotes, it baffles me that it has such a good rating overall. The dialogue's forced, stilted, gross, there's glaring inconsistencies (for example how I switched to Death's Heads mid story and didn't correct it across all chapters), the pitiful chapter lengths, the stupidity of the plot (I mean come on, unicorns vs everyone else? Twilight'd be wiped out by numbers before she'd be able to forcefully relocate them. After all, at the end of the day the Nazis could do the horrible things they did to the Jews because the Jews were ultimately a minority)... it's like whew lad. I'm thinking maybe I might try and rewrite it again. I can't guarantee that it'll be better...knowing how I function it'll probably be similar to the rewrite I already did, but honestly...the prospect ain't looking that bad.
So...to all you out there...who's alive and kicking? I'll leave you all with a gift...the unpublished, unedited (as far as I know) Chapter 12 of For the Fatherland. Just follow this link, and you should be able to read it! Tell me what you think below, and maybe...if enough people still exist and want to see it continued/reworked I might just try my hand at it again.
