Car Update - Unhappy Ending · 12:52am Feb 24th, 2021
I spent a good amount of money taking three different Ubers across the city, as well as paying the tow place to try and get my car out of lockup. Unfortunately, when I went to actually check on the car, well...
To quote the Dude himself:
"Well, they finally did it... They killed my fucking car."
The driver's side wheel was not only shredded (not even two months after getting four new tires on the car), but the wheel and axle were bent inwards into the wheel well. I'm guessing whomever stole my car last week crashed it into something, and left it in a parking lot for the cops to find.
I wish that the cops told me that BEFORE I went all the way out there to see it myself. However, if there's any silver lining, it's that the towing lot was within walking distance of a salvage place where I could sell it.
I had that car for over a DECADE. I first got it when I was still in college, and it was a reliable little shitheap for many years. I put a lot of money into it, but I was content with keeping it going for as long as I could. Unfortunately, due to some human equivalent of an anal cyst (who managed to avoid getting caught by the cops, figures), my boyfriend and I are now stuck without a working car. I'm expected to get a few hundred bucks selling the car for scrap, which is something I suppose. But at the same time, this incident really threw a monkey wrench into this year's plans.
I'm gonna try my best to keep things going as well as I can, including publishing the physical books of Brushed Away for sale after getting my stimulus check. But if anyone wants to help me out, I would highly recommend following me on Patreon, or donating to my PayPal. I have a lot of projects ongoing which are gonna keep me busy for the remainder of the month, so any little bit helps out a ton in the long run. :)
Damn... that’s rough, man...
Oof, sorry to hear that
I'm so sorry for your car. I hope everything will work out for you and your boyfriend soon.
That sucks man, sorry to hear that
Jeez I can’t imagine that pain. I’m super sorry, dude. I hope you can find something new soon!
Ah shit. Best wishes, yo. I'm surprised the thing lasted that long mechanically until now.
Hopefully you find another car that keeps you going for another 10 years.
