    Yes I am alive

Sorry I've been so absent as of late. My new project kinda absorbed me a bit :twilightsheepish: Actually, for the past year ever since I decided to write a Warriors fanfiction I couldn't really think about much else as far as writing is concerned, even right now.

    It's been 10 years!

Yeah, it's been 10 years since I've made an account on this website and published the first two chapters of Rebirth of the Damned, my first story (you can't tell now because back then when you would edit chapters and save them then it would overwrite the date of publication).

Update on Infinite Potential at last! And stuff!!! · 1:54am Feb 20th, 2021

Chapter 18 is done.

Dear lord that was an exertion and a half. Finished a couple of days ago, the fact that I am informing you so late is a testament to how exhausted I was. Finished up at 2 am to boot, despite it being on work days. And speaking of writing, here's how weird my writing speed is: I wrote about 25% of the chapter in December, about 25% in January, and about the 50% percent in the first half of February, half of which (so 25% of overall) I wrote over the last weekend! WHYYYYYY?!

Oh right, and the chapter, well it did turn out shorter than the previous one... but not by much. Because of course.

Anyways, my proofreading-editing team had already started to look over it, so I think you can expect the chapter to come out before the end of February.

In other news, I will be taking about a month long break from writing, I need to rest after writing two IP chapters practically back to back. I apologize to the fans of the other two stories for the attention that IP keeps getting, I do try to be fair to all three stories. My plans are to write 2 quick chapters for Rebirth of the Damned after my break is over, then most likely IP chapter, 1 for either Rebirth or Stars in the Making, depending on how I feel at the time, assuming there is time before the next IP chapter (I plan to have those two IP chapters done by the time Summer ends), then another Rebirth, IP, and Stars if I hadn't wrote one earlier around the end of the year. I will try to come up with shorter chapters this year to keep this plan, but we will see how it goes. Sometimes, the chapters just write themselves like this.

So, since I've been so quiet lately, you might be curious what I have been up to aside from writing, and what do I plan to do with my free time in the upcoming month. Or not, I'm gonna compensate for my near lack of friends in real life and talk about it anyway.

Hadn't been playing WoW, actually. The new expansion is great, I just... I dunno, I lost interest after finishing my Covenant's campaign. I didn't even finish any other, or leveled up all the alts that I planned to level. My main druid and my warlock alt are still the only characters I have on max level. That being said I am sure I will resume playing at some point, I get those "phases" for each of my favorite franchises every now and then, usually lasting a few months. I resumed playing WoW around September, so by January this interest, even with the new expansion, started to wane.

I had watched the Blizzcon, of course, and as some of you might not know, we get new patch coming up soon, so I will probably return a little before it.

Oh, and of course, we get Burning Crusade Classic! Oh, how I am looking forward to THAT^^ Not only the "playstyle" more or less the same as it is in Classic, but the max level content is more enticing to me. Not quite sure why that it is, but, as I had mentioned, I am really put off by how much of max level content in Classic is tied to Blackrock Mountain. I... I think I must have some REALLY bad experience with that place, considering how much of a borderline PTSD I have when it comes to the thought of playing through its many dungeons.

Burning Crusade, in contrast, is simple, you still have to do attunements but there are no labyrinths going all through a damn mountain!

Now, one of the things that I had recently regained interest for a time is, as I might have mentioned in my previous blog, Star Wars^^ Started to play KoToR and SWTOR, bought Jedi Fallen Order and Battlefront 2, and even payed for PS+ to play on multiplayer. In Heroes vs Villains mode I play mostly as Count Dooku, for two reasons, first is that he ROASTS Ray when he fights her:

" You call yourself a Jedi ?! I've trained younglings at the Temple that fought better than you , girl.. "

" You sully the weapon that you are holding "

" I thought I had seen the worst of what passes for Jedi swordsmanship, how wrong I was... "

" There is no precision in your bladework, no power in your strike , no finesse in your footwork .. "

" You were supposed to block , child.. is this a sparring match or a duel ?.. "

and the other reason is his epic skin, the "Exquisite Pyjamas", which is freaking hilarious xD

I also finally watched Mandalorian, I had heard only good things about it of course but I originally hadn't started to watch it because around the time it came out the trailer for Rise of Sh*t came out, which made me lose whatever hope I had left for Disney's Star Wars and decided to not "waste my time" with Mandalorian. I am happy that I was wrong of course, even if the long time before watching it caused me to be super spoiled, but whatever. Mandalorian is awesome, and if some of you hadn't seen it yet I highly recommend it. You can see that it was written by people who LOVE Star Wars and actually know and understand this universe, unlike some people I would rather not mention.

And speaking of... all this good Star Wars content had cause my hatred for the sequels to grow. Like, really, if Force was real I would be going Dark Side already due to my hatred for the sequels alone. Dear lord they are awful! Yes, there are some good things in it, and Episode 7 while full of flows is watchable, but holy F*** with the rest!

If you are curious why do I think so, well, I'm not gonna write it all here, sorry, that would be an essay longer than my stories. However, I had stumbled upon videos that pretty much portray my opinion of the sequels, and even actually pointed out several things that I hadn't realized and make the sequels even worse. So, if you want to see why do I have such a harsh opinion of them, or even better, if you are like me and consider the sequels an abomination that shouldn't exist and would enjoy somebody mocking them in a hilarious manner, well, here they are:

I highly recommend the last one especially, mostly because that movie was the worst one, but I digress, I know that such long videos have the tendency to scare off people xD But really, the guy's curses are hilarious in that one xD

Another ol' interest of mine that had recently resurfaced is Pokemon. Started off because of this video, probably:

so I am trying Platinum Nuzlocke too, doing okay so far. But I've also began to make plans to finally finish my Crystal, AlphaSapphire and Sun that I started during Summer, aaaand thinking about playing the 5th gen games. 5th games had probably the best storyline from the main games since gen 1 and 2 gen storylines, and it has been so long since they came out with no remakes yet that I forgot enough that they would be fun again to play through. That being said, Pokemon Black was the last Pokemon game I actually played "seriously", since then not only have I stopped trying to play competitively, breeding Pokemon and EV training them and fighting people through wi-fi, but also stopped trying to completely finish the games, do everything from the post-gave content. Which means, I am reluctant to erase my save game to start again, even though I had already transferred all my good Pokemon to Ultra Moon :twilightsheepish: I am thinking about buying Pokemon White because of that, which actually would work out since I have Pokemon White 2 instead of Black 2 (I didn't realize when I was buying it that, while the "2" games were sequels, only Black 2 would be an actual direct sequel to Black, with several differences between White and Black), so it would have a smooth transition from one to other. And I wouldn't care about my save file on White 2, I barely finished the game there.

Oh, and I had also played around with the idea of getting Nintendo Switch to play either Pokemon Sword or Shield. However, as this was an idea that TimePrincess, one of my editors, has been vehemently against practically ever since the games went out, I decided to look up some reviews of the game, and WOW. I knew what people were saying, but still... I mean, it's not ALL bad, and there is enough good in them that I would like to play it someday, but until I get Nintendo Switch for something else and stumble upon a very good offer for those games, I am not going to bother giving Game Freak money for such a mess of a game. I will much rather play again one of the older games.

Okay, hm, other than those there is nothing much to report. I played around with CK3, tried to unite Africa but didn't get there yet so won't post any screenshots quite yet, maybe next time... I will let you know though that Byzantine Empire had broken up already in this current playrun of mine, and not because of me, through all the centuries I had played not once have I gone to war with them. Neither was it because of the Muslim Empire (those guys I broke, I took Egypt from them - pure luck, I was losing the war and then I captured their leader in battle - and that weakened them enough for Byzantine and Crusaders to rip them a new one) or anybody, they had even expanded up to Russia. But then, at some point, their Basileus became, somehow, Catholic. And then all the kingdoms started breaking apart xD Currently, the Byzantine Empire comprises only of some small lands in Russia, Croatia, and Northern Africa. I let them keep those because I was hoping they would become independent too, but for whatever reason they stayed loyal. Oh well.

That's about all from me now , I'm sure I forgot about something but its 3 am and I want to finish writing this already :rainbowlaugh:

See ya

Oy mate, as much as I adore getting the opportunity to read more of your fantastic stuff, I'd hate for you to get burned out or to hurt yourself mentally in order to get that. Please, don't push yourself in an unhealthy way. I don't want to sound 'preachy' about stuff like that, you and your health are immensely more important than a story on the internet. So yeah, don't forget to take care of yourself too? Taking that break seems like a good idea, to be frank. Don't worry, we'll still be here, eagerly awaiting your next masterpiece. ^^

I've never played WoW, or many other MMORPGs for that matter. Thing is, I don't even know if it would be possible to even start with it now, given how many years it has been online. Would it the possible to make sense of the story, after all the countless expansions and finished campaigns that have now passed into 'history'? How long would it take to get a level 0 character to an adequate level, in order to even enjoy the story aspect and succeed with the missions? I dunno, seems like a really big time-sink for little pay-off, at the end...

Yes! Star Wars! To be frank, I've always enjoyed the prequels, because they are good movies in their own right. The biggest problem with them is that they are such a jarring departure from the original movies that they seem like they could be taking place in another universe entirely, for all the impact that they have. However, I don't personally think that that makes them bad, just different.
Screw the new movies though, especially the flimsy excuse for a plot resolution in the last movie. God, did I want to rip my hair out of my head at the ending.
ALSO, FUCK YOU A GODDAMN MULTIPLE-PLANET-DESTROYING-LASER GOING AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN VISIBLE FROM THE PLANETS THEMSELVES MINUTES BEFORE THEIR ANNIHILATION. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY, IT JUST DOES. :twilightangry2:

Aaaaaah yes, Pokémon, Bringer of Nostalgia, Destroyer of Romantic Relationships... Last game I played was Black and White, but I never managed to get farther than the League because I couldn't bring up the willingness to try and actually level up my team in order to beat them. Also, I loved my team so much, I couldn't bring myself to change their roster in order to take the optimal pokémons for the fight.
I used up all my money on potions and revives, only to never make it past the second league member. ;-;
Also, in my humble opinion, I think that Gold and Silver have the best storylines in the entire series (excluding the Rescue Teams games :D ), but that might just be the nostalgia talking. Good luck on your Nuzlocke! ^^

CK3 was honestly quite the surprise, coming from Paradox. I mean, don't get me wrong, they do some fantastic games, but their launches have always been a bit... iffy? I can only commend them for publishing a game that is actually playable, and with no extra must-buy DLC attached right from the get-go. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing a few screenshots of the insanity described of your game, because it seems like quite the adventure you've been through. XD

I wish you a great day, and much success in your career dude. Stay safe! ^^

Congratulations on getting that done. :)

I hope your break goes well!

Ah, sorry about the apparently undesired IRL friend near-lack, though.

Ooh, they're bringing out Classic versions of the expansions? Neat!
I hope you enjoy BC Classic, whenever it comes out!

See, I recall liking the Blackrock Mountain instances... buuut that may have something to do with the fact that most of my experience with them, as I recall, was after I got to a high enough level to solo them and was doing so. :D

Hm, I'm curious: what do you think of how Darths and Droids is handling the sequels so far? I've not see the sequels, as I think's come up here before, and also as I think's come up here before, have no plans to. :D
But I've a lot more faith here in a small webcomic team than the great machinery of the Disney Company.
(...Actually, I was assuming you knew about Darths and Droids, but just in case you didn't, it's a webcomic that can be read here. And if you hadn't heard of it, I can recommend it in general, and while I can't be sure, it seems like something you might enjoy. :))

Yeah, I'm afraid I'm probably not going to watch the videos, given all the other things I have to do. Also, I watched about the first minute and a half of the first one, and if the density of problems pointed out in that small a segment of the videos' runtime is a representative sample... uh, yeah. Yep, still not expecting to watch these movies. :D

And good luck with the various gaming things. :)

Yeah, I know, I just... I want to get my stories done at some point. Been writing Infinite Potential for 6 years now and I still hadn't finished the first arc:raritydespair:

Hm, well, there is Classic WoW that lets you play through the game as it was in 2004-2006, you can chose to play that one, or play the current game. There is a way to play through the old content for leveling purposes. Now when you create a new character, you are first send off to a starting area that teached you how to play up to level 10, then you can chose to level through either the content from the previous expansion, or pick any of the previous one thanks to a time dragon, the zones scale up to your level. Then after hitting level 50, you go do the content from the current expansion. That being said, to play through all of the game you would have to create multiple characters, so it would take a while to get the whole story. Still, it is a fun game to try out, the current game is free up to level 20 (or was until the current version... there was so scaling down of levels, so I am not sure if this rule still works), so maybe you could check it out^^

Oh, I actually enjoy the prequels too. However, my opinion might be affected by the fact that Phantom Menace was the first Star Wars movie I saw (I was 6-8 I think), aaand the amount of Extended Universe I had read about the prequels era (novelization of Revenge of the Sith is one of the best books I've read).
You know, the funny thing about that plotline from Rise of Plotholes is that, like a LOT of stuff in the new movies was stolen from EU (and badly implamented). In a comics set about 6 years after Return of the Jedi Paplatine returned in a cloned body, had a bunch of world-destroying machines (except they needed to be deployed on the planet and there was many of them to destroy a world). Of course, that comic had mixed reception due to Palpatine surviving, but unlike the new trilogy, it came out in the 90ties, years before George Lucas came up with "the Chosen One" in the prequels, so that comics didn't screw over the whole story of the universe like the new movies.

As somebody who once beat the Elite4 with an Azumaril in their team, I get wanting to keep your team xD And yeas, the Mystery Dungeon games were the best (though I personally prefer the Explorers), but I was talking about the core series. Gold and Silver were awesome too of course, that's why I said that the 5th gen story was the best since those.

Iffy? Personally I didn't notice anything wrong with the launch, honestly. And yeah, I will get some screenshots when I will get back to it, sadly I don't have anything from the game up to this point, but will get at least the shot of the "current" world and the one after I conquer whole africa.

Thanks^^ Stay safe^^

Thanks, hope you'll enjoy it^^

Doing great so far^^

Oh well, it happens. Being too into things that nobody else I know was into didn't help :twilightsheepish: I stated in contact with friends from school who also played Pokemon the longest, for example, but other than that nobody I knew was into WoW, MLP, Warriors, and so on. I am good friends with people from work, though, but of course we don't meet up thanks to pandemic.

Thanks, I can't wait^^ This means Wrath of the Lich King will come out in 2 years most likely, I wonder how people will react to that announcement xD

That probably factored in :twilightsheepish: Actually, talking about Classic made me wanna try again, and that led back to my max level character. So far I am only doing things I can do easily, leveling up my profession and getting gold, will try seeing about BRM over weekend maybe.

Oh, they've handled the sequels a LOT better than Disney. That being said I hadn't read them yet, I just know that there is no way in hell that anybody would write sequels worse than Disney xD Anyway, you have mentioned that webcomic before, but I hadn't gotten around to reading it yet... or anything really, somehow I am still 4 chapters behind with Homelands :raritycry:

Yeah, better not watch the movies, I went to the cinema for the Rise of Plotholes only because I wanted to fuel my hatred :rainbowlaugh: That's probably not a healthy reason to watch something. Also, fun fact, those videos are just "rants", the guy made a proper reviews of the movies 7 and 8, each several hours long (watched the 8 one so far and only because I was doing some boring paperwork and needed to listen to something in the background).
(Also the third one is the funniest xD)

Thanks^^

Thanks! :)

Good!

Glad it sounds like it doesn't bother you too much, and that you're friends with people you work with.

You think they'll react in a particular way? Not sure I follow, sorry.

Good luck, if you do!
Every now and then I've thought about getting back into WoW, buuuut a: time and b: money. If I have so little time to play games I already have purchased or even installed and don't have to constantly pay to keep active, exactly why, I reply to myself, would it be a good idea to start paying for WoW again given my limited funds? But, who knows, maybe someday. [shrugs] Not that bothered about it, since, again, not as if I have vast empty stretches of time I'm struggling to fill. :D

Hah! :D
"A did X a lot better than B did X! Granted, I haven't tried how A did X, but B did X so very terribly that I don't see how A could have done as badly!"? :D
(Though, so far, it's "handling". They've done Rogue One and are now in the first of the sequel trilogy.)
Oh, had I? That does make sense, given this topic's come up before.
And no problem! Though sorry you're behind in your reading; good luck catching up!

Hah, yeah, no, sorry. :D
And thanks for the additional information on the videos.
(Glad you enjoyed it. :))

You think they'll react in a particular way? Not sure I follow, sorry.

I often watch reaction videos on youtube to various things, like announcements of various WoW related content. Here's a crowd reactions to the announcement for WoW Classic:

Hopefully by the time Wrath of the Lich King Classic will come out the stupid pandemic will be over and we'll get another proper Blizzcon with an announcement to the crowd :unsuresweetie:

Good luck, if you do!

As I mention in my newest blog post, I did^^ Took a few runs, but finally got over my fear of Blackrock Mountain :rainbowlaugh: Now I have fear of Dire Maul and Maraudon... but anyway, yeah, you might be better off avoiding WoW, especially Classic. It's super fun, and WAY more satisfying than retail WoW, but it is VERY time consuming. Dungeons, Raids, heck, farming, because you need to farm something to have gold to buy yourself a mount if you don't want to run everywhere at snails' pace, it all takes time and patience. Oh, and leveling up to max level takes super long. So unless you have the time to play a few hours a day, I don't think you'd get your money's worth.
Retail WoW could maybe work for you, as it is far more casual and while I keep saying Classic is more fun to play, Retail is still fun. I am pretty sure you can play the first 20 levels for free if you wanna try it out and see if you'd enjoy it.

Hah! :D

Yeah, normally I don't like saying stuff like that, because opinions are subjective and you shouldn't judge a thing before checking it out yourself and all that, but I just... can't with the Disney's Star Wars movies.
Will be sure to read up on it at some point, Rogue One was by far my favorite from the new movies, and the first Sequel was about the only one that didn't make me wanna bash my head against the wall, so it will be fun to check out what somebody who knows what they're doing has done with those :rainbowlaugh:
Thanks^^ Finally caught up with Homelands last week :ajsleepy: It is a relief to see I hadn't wrote anything contradicting the lore there within Infinite Potential; was really worried when I introduced Deliverance, I was afraid something about his tribe could have come up in the new chapters that could go against stuff I talk there :twilightblush:

^^

Ahh, okay. Thanks. By contrast, reaction videos are something I basically never watch, so it didn't have much presence in my brain to make that link.

Though regarding the pandemic... [shrugs, unfortunately] Who can say at this point?

Aye, nice. :)
Hah, well, good luck with Dire Maul and Maraudon, then. :D
And yeah, that's basically been my thought on the matter. Even if the money was absolutely no object, there's the time required to do it properly. Oh well.
regarding retail WoW: Eh, I don't know. That still takes a fair amount of time -- and like I said, boredom is really not a problem I tend to have -- and while I remember having a lot of fun in Wrath and some in Cata back in the day, my interest in playing eventually petered out. And maybe it'd be back again with the new content, but on the other hand I don't know how good the new content is... ehh. Basically, yeah, I think it'd be worth checking out, at least, if I had time I was trying to fill, but, uh. Yeah, no, opposite problem, there, and I kind of don't think I need to discover "Oh, hey! This is really fun! So now it's yet another thing jostling for my attention!" right now. :D
But thanks for the information. :)

Heh. Sorry. :)
And yeah, I think they've done some interesting things with what they have to work with. :)
Ah, nice! And oo, right, yeah, I can see that having been a concern, the accidental contradiction. Glad it didn't come up! :)
