Blink Again - Ch.1 & Ch.15 Update

Howdy there, folks! I’m just writing this blog post to inform any readers of my story, Blink Again, that I have made some major additions to the beginning of chapter one. These are not things that are crucial for the reader to know, and you shouldn’t feel obligated to go back and read it, but I figured some people might want to anyway.

The additions are mainly comprised of a few extra lines for Spike—since I felt his one and only appearance in the story should get a bit more love—and an explanation of Daring Do and the Secret of Brodfeld’s origins. Why did I choose now to throw in a better introduction to this book? Well, it’s because of what I have planned for chapter fifteen and so that I can properly set up threads in case I want to write anything else in the same setting as this story (though such content is purely hypothetical at this point and would likely be rather disconnected from the larger Blinkverse).

And as for chapter fifteen, I can also confirm a few things about it now. Firstly, it is going to be my longest chapter yet. Already, it would be my third longest chapter if released now, and I still have quite a bit left to go. This is because of how much content I want to pack into this chapter—a chapter which used to also contain what is now outlined for chapter sixteen and which I am not interested in splitting for a second time.

As for the contents of this chapter, that involves some minor spoilers. Since some may not want spoilers even as milquetoast as this, I will black this section out. The chapter will contain the third and final Daring Do section, which will link it up to the main story by both implication and in the reactions of the characters. Of course, you may have already guessed this, both through what I’ve said and by the fact that there is a Daring Do section every five chapters. Chapter fifteen will also contain a fair bit of light-hearted dialogue and character building, since I think it is obvious to anyone paying attention that things are about to get pretty heavy somewhat soon, and I wanted one last chance for these kinds of interactions.

P.S. - Oh, and I almost forgot something. I added the horror tag to Blink Again. This isn’t because I think of it as horror in any way, but rather because so many other people have referred to it as horror that I figured I might as well make it official.
