Hivehunter gritted his teeth as he read his book, trying to focus on literally anything other than the pain in his feet, which were resting on top of a pillow.
“Hey, Hive!”
The muscular changeling looked up to see five of his friends—lris, Wirax, Yetzal, Chronicle, and Helix—standing in the doorway of his room. “Oh, hey. You guys need anything?”
“We came to see how you were doing. How are your feet doing?”
“They’ve been aching ever since Commander Arthropod forced me to walk a mile in the Saddle Arabian desert.”
His five friends looked at each other. “...Want us to help with that?” Chronicle suggested.
“Um...” The muscular changeling set his book aside. “Sure, how so?”
Iris and Chronicle climbed forward on the end, and each of them rested their hands on the changeling’s feet, making him squeak audibly.
“Now just relax, Hive,” Iris said as he rubbed the palm of his hand against his sole, while Chronicle’s fingers worked in between his toes. “This is merely an old method used against mild burns and such, so it’s gonna take a while.”
“But it tickles!”
