When a good day turns sour · 2:02am Dec 22nd, 2020
So, as some of you may know already, On the Implications of Parallel Worlds has an update scheduled for tomorrow. Yes, it's real.
I'm also a trucker, now.
Believe it or not, those two are connected. I had the idea I needed to finish off Chap. 52 while I was on the road, and actually wrote the chapter during off-duty time at the end of the day. It went live to patrons on... what was it, Thursday? Friday? I don't remember.
Then today, I had a mere 6-hour jaunt from our overnight stay at a truck stop, then we pulled into the terminal to wait nearly eighteen hours to deliver it tomorrow. Naturally, I was having a good day.
Until I discovered that, while I was away, my personal vehicle developed a braking system leak.
Fortunately, I had the foresight to purchase an extended warranty on it when I bought it- an extended warranty that pushes it to 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The odometer reads 59,552.
Yeah, it's under warranty. It's at the shop now, where they'll look at it over the next week or so, while I'm driving a vehicle with air brakes instead of hydraulic brakes. When I come back to the terminal after Christmas, I'll run down and pick it up, all nice and repaired.
Then I'm going to give it back to the bank in a couple months anyways, because I need to get rid of it. It used to be my lifeline, and represent my freedom- but now all it does is represent my past, the past of constant stress and difficulty making enough money to survive that I am shedding now.
So that's how a good day turned sour... and then turned positive once again, because I then got some time to write some more on The Boy who Disappeared as well...
Yay!!!!!

My words exactly. Thank you for the update. I was really worried something went wrong, so I'm glad to hear you're doing ok.
All the best
