An Update (December 14th, 2020) · 10:15am Dec 14th, 2020
Hello, everyone.
Well, this disaster of a year is coming to an end, finally. But, I think it's safe to say we've all learned a few things. I sure did.
First of all, I want to thank the readers of my story, yet again, for sticking with it. I have not given up on it, in fact, I'm positive it's moving forward.
I have decided to make it more lean. Originally, there were going to be three storylines. Now, there's two. But, I'm planning to write a story about a certain Japanese character that takes place at the same time as TFiTU. Yep, Uyada is getting her own story. Not only that, Princess Celestia will be getting one also! Plus, I'm sure there'll be some room for another... But, I'm getting ahead of myself.
The first two chapters of my story will, yet again, be rewritten. After that, the story will have a steady update schedule, I hope. Yay! (To be clear, I haven't applied the edits yet.)
If you want a taste of my revised writing style, here you go:
The van entered the property. It slowed down to a squeaky halt. Arthur swung the door open, inhaling the calming smells. He took a deep breath in and released it slow and with that, he stepped out onto the pavement.
The target building was ahead, it would be a short walk, not too long, he'd hoped. It was in the middle of a pine forest glade. The sight was beautiful. The west side of the building bore a pond filled with life, with the dying rain, the croaking frogs made their presence known, loudly. The Moon lit a small portion of the east, it hid, peaking through the passing clouds, framing the scene perfectly.
But beautiful details weren't important now, what needed to be prominent was the tasks. The tasks Arthur dreaded. The tasks he vowed to never do again. Steal, hurt, vandalize.
A tap on his shoulder brought him back to the reality he had to face. Turning, he found it was his crewmate, Uyada, she held out a small metal object in her hand. Arthur took it and upon closer inspection, found she had passed him a miniature horseshoe. "For luck," she said.
Luck. The reason you walk into a casino, the reason you live right now and like a casino, Arthur gambled. He gambled with his life, his freedom. These three people blindly followed him and one of them just gifted him with luck.
Now, I don't plan on releasing a new story this year. 2020 was hard on all of us, I'm sure. But, who knows? 2021 could show some real promise. I feel... optimistic. I know I've promised a lot of things and I'm sorry for not delivering, truly. But, things are looking up and I'm beginning to look up as well.
Thank you all for reading and I'll see you in the next one.
Peace.
