Not much to report at the moment. My policy of disabling comments on new stories needs more entries and datapoints before it can be considered a useful experiment, so I'm reserving judgement on that note. Considering expanding it to all my stories, but I think at that point I'd be working on a scale where I have to publicly explain the thought process and personal reasons behind it, which I'm not quite ready for yet, I don't think.
Bastion stories have been my main focus, in particular story 2 of 3, with 1 being finished and ready to publish, pending any major changes down the line. Story 2 is the camp story, for those who are keeping track, featuring OC's Assault and Battery. I've found myself needing to do yet another re-write (third or fourth now) to get story 2 clear thematically as well as make sense in the broader context of the trilogy. Beginning's okay, the ending is fine in concept, if not worked out in actual text yet, but the middle is and has been giving me trouble for ages. There's one character in particular who's honestly giving me headaches. He's become my worst enemy, no joke, I swear this OC will be the death of me. But aside from that, story two is supposed to be both a set-up and a conclusion to a few shorter character arcs, which is getting hard to juggle with it also being a training montage for Bastion. Motivation's been taking blows, too. If anyone could give me a good reason to continue writing and publishing here, that'd be great. I think I need some outside perspective on these matters. Work's been time-consuming, couple of weeks of weekend work, but still enjoying it and still enjoying myself.
Gonna try and do some stuff over the weekend, both for myself and for stories. Watching Season 9 probably won't happen this year, unless I marathon it quickly on a small screen.
As always: if you like something online, download it just in case; control your own thoughts, lest someone else control them for you; and remember addiction is addiction, regardless of what causes the dopamine hit, the shackles of dependency can take any number of forms.
