Rubbing a pony's ears?

Do you think a pony would like to be rubbed/petted by the ears?

In other words, ear scratches.

I started off with a quick response and now I'm actually doubting my initial answer. Ponies cannot easily reach their ears/the skin around their ears with the leverage and force needed to scratch an itch on their own, unless they're unicorns. In nature on our Earth, animals in such a situation will scratch their itch by rubbing up against tree bark or other rough surfaces. For humans, we invented tools like the back-scratcher (invented) or turned it into a social activity; communal bathing to wash each others' backs or doing it as a favor for someone. With ponies being a prey species, I'm thinking they would be very skittish about an alpha predator putting his hand on the back of their head if they didn't trust the human already. Once that trust was established though, they'd probably like it.

I consider them closer to dogs of our world and some dogs LOVE ear scratches while the others would be either indifferent to it or don't like it at all.

If its from a close friend or spouse, I imagine they love ear scratches. But not from strangers.
