Dauntless Reforged=Changes. · 4:04am Dec 4th, 2020
For anyone that isn't in the know, Dauntless has had a HUGE change in it's gameplay. For those who haven't played Dauntless before, the old gameplay was like this:
1) You select the hunt of your Choice (A specific behemoth or patrol of your choice) and wait a bit.
2) Join a loading lobby where everyone's preparing for the hunt with last minute changes.
3) Land on an island, look for, and hunt the behemoth. (And hope you win)
4) Return to homebase and repeat the process all over again.
I won't lie, the old process was pretty tedious, and it did get boring, especially if you had a lot of patrol chests. But now, it's basically this:
1) Gear up at the base with all the stuff you need.
2) Land on the island immediately, which has TONS of behemoths on it now that respawn, practically letting you hunt forever.
3) Return to the base at your will if you're tired of that island and/or have enough crafting material.
Yes, in a way, this makes more of a Moneter Hunter Clone that people say it is, but my real issue with it, Ingame, is that it basically downgraded all of my armor stats, meaning I have to grind everything back to what they were before the change.
But what does that mean for my fic? Well... I've been gone for a while, with work and life stuff happening, but this change will be integrated into the fic. Hopefully, it will work.
Is Reforged any better than the original Dauntless? I played for a while but I couldn't find anyone to hunt with and got stuck on this one behemoth, so I stopped playing.

It's no longer as long and tedious as the original. While if you do go to an island where a certain behemoth you need to slay, it may not spawn immediately, but with plenty of drop in and drop out slayers, you're bound to have an easier time slaying, and getting gear
