Cold War Kaijus · 8:35pm Nov 15th, 2023
So I won't lie, all of what I'm gonna show to you is made using AI. But I'm not using these as the "Finished looks", but these are more of concepts, as I'm terrible at drawing, and don't have cash to pay someone to draw them. But this is the main idea:
The world takes place in an alternate history where, instead of Nuclear warfare being the main threat, all the nations involved with the Cold War have their own Kaiju, to act as their nation's warrior. All because a monster terrorized a US occupied Japan, and Joseph Stalin believed that not only can the USSR make their own monster, but control it, and use it as a way to destroy any nation if they were eliminated.
And though it was first done by the USSR, all the nations followed suit; using their national animal as the main basis for their Kaiju. This is where we follow America's Kaiju, Thunderbird, and his journey in what it means to not just be an American, but human.

A taste of what I'm planning for the future! Kaiju action with some of Paul Verhoeven's satire. (Mostly Robocop) Hope some of you like this idea.
This........actually sounds like it has some promise. You're making this into an actual book or something?

In a way, yes. I really want it to be like a manga, maybe even a comic book, but I'm ok if it becomes a book. Writing's a pain with work and distractions everywhere, lol.

Fair enough. Still, hope you keep us updated if you make any progress.

I'll probably share the first chapter. Though I'm aiming for it to be like an Epistolary (basically a work of fiction that's written in the form of letters and documents)

I will admit, as far as I know that's going to be very different than what I'm used to reading. It would honestly be a bit fascinating considering the subject matter. I am looking forward to it.
