NNN days 6,7,8 · 3:07am Nov 9th, 2020
The past few days have been incidental, to say the least. They all blended together into one big mishmash of days with little to no differentiation except for Sunday, where I had three different Zoom meetings with church leaders and blessed the sacrament for my family.
I'm doing all right. After my initial break down a few days ago, my desire to release hasn't come up again. It's irrelevant. I don't need it.
"But you need to release! It helps recycle sperm and keep them healthy! It increases risk for prostate cancer if you don't masturbate!" Well, isn't that why we have wet dreams? They achieve the same purpose, except without disrupting your flow of dopamine.
There's no reason why I shouldn't press forward. Legends have spoken of unrivaled power if I endure this month. By the fourteenth day, I shall achieve the ability to levitate and create blog posts in the past.
Recycle sperm to keep it healthy? Where the literal fuck did you hear that? No no no no....the body does not 'recycle' sperm for the benefit of healthy sperm. Sperm has a life expectancy like every other cell in your body and when it dies it just breaks down. What doesn't get reabsorbed gets passed out with the rest of the bodily waste.
Ejaculation does not benefit sperm health.
In fact: too much ejaculation makes things worse, like decreacing fertility and swim speed.
And wet dreams only happen if your wires are crossed enough to be overstimulated while dreaming. It doesn't happen to everyone: more often than not you just wake up with Morning Wood.
I could go on about the misinformation that's been thrown at you but I'm just getting worked up.
Doesn't anybody pay attention in Sex Ed anymore?

Literally every pro-masturbation source I've been to advocates this. But I suppose it was all a lie. I also admit, my wording of the word recycle was not the right one to use. I was simply unsure of how else to say it. Thanks for getting that straight with me.

My problem here is you most likely did hear the word recycle used in that context.
Misinformation is harmful regardless of what side it comes from
I really wish more people wouldn't just spit bullshit when arguing their point, but that's apparently too much to ask in this day and age.

And here I was, thinking that argument actually carried some weight. Well, now I'm even more confident to get rid of that bad habit.

Are there some benefits to it? Yes.
Are there any benefits that you can't get from another source? Absolutely not.
Can it become an addiction? Yes.
Can it be done in moderation? Again, yes.
Now, I won't compare masturbation addiction to chemical addictions/dependencies like alcoholism, but I'll certainly compare it to voluntarily aquired health risks like obesity.
Kicking the addiction is the same thing as kicking that extra 30 pounds. It all comes down to getting different habits.
But none of what I said applies to you.
You made a choice to commit to changing something about yourself: and you absolutely deserve respect from taking the steps to get there.
