So, it's been… a while. And this year hasn't been… great. So I think we could all be forgiven for a lack of communication given these trying times of crisis and universal brouhaha that we find ourselves neck deep in.
Mostly me. I think most of the forgiveness should come from me, given it's been 11 MONTHS AND ALL. That level of non-communication is rough even by my standards, so just picture me in full formal Japanese bow with my head on the floor, begging your forgiveness and thanking you for your interminable patience. I'll wait, give you time to get the full image.
Got it? Good. Now let's get down to brass tacks.
So, it is the third of October, which means I'm about 27 days out from November. And November means NaNoWriMo, as I'm sure my long time followers are well aware. And NaNoWriMo means that, come hell or high water, with God above as my witness, I am going to finish Alicornae. I've been meaning to do work on it all this year, but the COVID-19 pandemic has put a lot of stress onto me and my family, and what creative energy I had was mostly being funneled into the world building for my own fantasy setting, so Alicornae has kinda taken a back burner for this year. Fortunately, I've mostly got that project done and am doing a D&D campaign with my one player to help flesh out the details now that I have the groundwork set. Which means more grimdark ponies for you, my ever faithful and ever patient readers, to enjoy.
I'm gonna be doing work for the first half of this month building up enough material for my D&D campaign that I don't have to write any during NaNo itself, and the latter half is gonna be spent plotting out the ending to Alicornae. How is it all gonna shake out? Will Starlit save Equestria? Will Twilight succeed in her dastardly plot? Will it be a happy ending or a tragic one? I guess we'll all have to wait and find out.

I had been under the impression that since Covid had been rough on everyone that it was also being rough on you, so it's more than understandable you needed to devote your time elsewhere. I'm just glad you came back, and you are in a better place such that you can start writing again for us.
What you write is a gift, and I'm certainly grateful when you do so.
