I am an Idiot · 12:31am Sep 27th, 2020
Today I did a very stupid thing.
Pinkie and I went to her favorite restaurant this morning to get breakfast. I got a biscuit, potatoes,....and a coffee. (Oh, you can see where this is going, can't you?) We parked in one of the spaces so I could put some sugar and creamer in the coffee. For some stupid reason, I thought it was okay to balance a full cup of hot coffee on my knee. Well, it tipped over and hot coffee poured all down my lap!
I leaped out of the car, screaming in pain. "SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" Now, this restaurant is a hang out for older people, like my parent's age, who are mostly Christian and politically conservative. So there I am, standing in the parking lot in pain and cussing up a storm while these elderly people just stare at me like I've lost my mind. I actually considered stripping off my pants but figured it probably wouldn't help much so I got back in the car and we sped home.
Pinkie was scared and I was trying to be calm, but the pain from the burns was making that difficult. We finally arrived home. I stripped and took a cool shower while my husband went to Walgreens to get some aloe vera gel. Between cool baths, ibuprofen, the gel and an ice pack I finally got the pain under control. Now it just feels like a sunburn.
My husband helped me check the damage. It have blisters on my inner thighs, a part of my belly, and a few on my butt. I'm going to call the doctor Monday to see if I need to come in.
I have learned a very important lesson here. Always keep coffee in the cup holder while you are adding sugar and cream. Another lesson for me would be to NEVER buy coffee from that restaurant again. It wasn't that good anyway.
Ouch
Here's hoping none of the damage is serious
Thank you. I knew I could count on you to respond.
As long as your alright.
I was cringing the whole time. Anyway, so sorry. If it was me I would be crying instead of cussing.😂

I am, thank you. I feel a lot better today.

Thank you. To be honest, I was cussing to keep from crying. Once I got home, I let it go.

How did your daughter react when you got hurt and started crying?

She kept asking "Are you okay?" and "I'm sorry!" and "It's okay, mommy! It's okay!" We got to the house and I went straight to the shower and cried in there. She checked on me and kept asking if i was okay. She was relieved when I finally stopped hurting.

Awwww😍. That's so cute. Isn't she like I don't know 12 or something. Either way, that's so pure. I wish my brother was like that when I get hurt. He usually just states at me trying not to laugh. He's so annoying for an 11 year old.

Boys do that. Our neighbors when we were kids laughed whenever one would get hurt. They saved their concern for when someone really got hurt.
