SAPR Rewrite - Update 2 · 8:15am Sep 26th, 2020
The second part of the SAPR Rewrite is now complete, with the whole of the Blake Arc having been rewritten, and I mean rewritten very literally in this case as it will probably stand out as the most substantially changed arc in the story.
As before, Ruby and Pyrrha run into Penny while out in Vale; Penny, as it transpires, has run away from Atlas - where she was supposed to be under observation to see how well she could interact with others - to Vale, to experience life on her own terms. She is pursued by Rainbow Dash, leader of Team RSPT, who swiftly catches up with Penny but is persuaded by Ruby and Pyrrha to let her stay in Vale. Rainbow, in turn, talks to General Ironwood and persuades him to let the team spend the semester at Beacon. Sunset is none too pleased to see her Canterlot tormentor back in her life, but Rainbow proves to be the bigger person and agrees not to tell Ruby, Pyrrha or Jaune what a jackass Sunset used to be.
The arrival of the Atlesians does not go down well with Blake, who almost immediately ends up on Rainbow's bad side when she accuses him of being a sellout. Blake sees rather more of Ilia Amitola in Rainbow Dash than is really there, and her attempts to save this poor faunus surrounded by wicked humans goes down a storm with the proud daughter of Atlas. After speaking to Sunset, and learning that Rainbow and Twilight are highly placed in Atlesian society - Twilight's Ironwood's goddaughter, Rainbow is his prized student, they both know Councillor Cadance - Blake decides to back off, aided by a speech from Weiss imploring Blake to remember that Atlas is not the SDC, and that the Atlesian military is full of honourable men and women like her sister who do not endorse her father's behaviour.
Sunset and Pyrrha enjoy a relaxing break at a spa.
Unfortunately there isn't much time for anyone to relax when the team leaders happen across the recent scene of a dust shop robbery. This precipitates another row between Blake and Rainbow, this time over the White Fang. When Blake says that the White Fang only attack deserving victims Rainbow loses it and decks her to the ground, having to be restrained from beating Blake into a pulp as she rants about the Canterlot Wedding and demands to know what Scootaloo had to done to deserve being targeted. Blake gives herself away with knowledge of the wedding that she ought not to have, and flees. Rainbow, who is more scarred by the events of the Wedding than she lets on, does what General Ironwood admonished her not to do and gives in to fear, rallying Ciel and Penny to hunt Blake down while asking Flash to protect Twilight from the White Fang infiltrator.
Sunset and Team SAPR also go looking for Blake, hoping to find her before the Atlesians do. Blake herself, aided by the carefree wanderer Sun Wukong, goes to see her old friend Tukson, who tells her the unfortunate truth that the White Fang are robbing dust shops, and are about to hit the docks. Blake resolves to stop them, and when Team SAPR find her at Tukson's they agree to join her.
Our heroes confront the White Fang at the docks, but the battle does not go well owing to the White Fang's substantial air support and the presence of the ferocious Adam Taurus, who effortlessly defeats Blake and Sun together. The tide turns with the arrival of the Atlesians, as Rainbow Dash, Ace of Canterlot, is able to go one on one with Adam and have him on the ropes while Ciel calls in fire from the cruiser Gallant to clear the skies of enemy assets. Adam retreats, gravely wounding Ruby in the process. Jaune discovers his semblance and saves Ruby. Torchwick is arrested but escapes with the help of a couple of dirty cops. Blake and Rainbow reach an understanding.
Although severely chastened for their actions, the heroes look to the future with the news of Torchwick's escape and the certain knowledge that this isn't over yet.
Good, now the story is more concise for new readers, will there be more rewrites?

Curious about this myself. I literally just finished the Blake Arc yesterday and was debating going forward if more rewrites and on their way. Thought I would just progress with the story as the rewrites came out so I did not have to worry about stuff being retconned out of existence.

Yes, there will. Rewrite chapters come out ever Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, with update blogs like this one at the end of each arc as a marker of progress.

Thanks for the reply.
Another question i had though. How far will the rewrites progress? For example, "there aren't going to be any rewrites after chapter 789 because everything after that takes the rewrite into account." Just curious how extensive the rewrites are going to be.
Thanks again for the reply and for the story.
How would Rainbow be able to go 1 v 1 with Adam? It just seems like it would put her head and shoulders above any other character.

Because she's General Ironwood's protege and a 100% Atlesian badass. Also, she makes a great foil to him as a faunus who fights for Atlas and her human friends.
Pyrrha could have taken him as well if she hadn't preoccupied dealing with his lieutenants.

I really appreciate that you're putting in the effort to both update parts of the story to either fix plot holes, add character development, or just improve them to your current standards; as well as give these recaps. However, I was wondering if in these blog posts if you could include the chapter ranges for the rewritten sections since notifications for rewrites aren't given on Fimfiction and I'd love to be able to see the changes as you finish each arc. Keep up the good work!

That's already partially taken care of, if you check the chapter list on the fic's FIMfiction page (and on the Spacebattles threadmarks, for that matter) you'll notice that starting with the first chapter the names of the chapters have been changed to have "rewritten" or "new" added after them in parentheses to denote that they've been effected by the rewrite. As stated above, you could also just check back every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday to see the progress of the rewrite. Failing all of that, you could also check out the story's Discord server where alerts are given out whenever a new chapter of either the ongoing story or the rewrite is posted: https://discord.gg/acKKNXR
Out of curiosity, how much are you planning to rewrite? The entirety of Volume 1? A bit less? Everything? I haven't been keeping up 1:1, but I do read the new chapters, and the rewritten Blake arc was very good.

Probably up until the end of the initial Sunset/Ruby arc ending with the encounter with Grogar, although by that time the changes will be very minor and mostly for continuity purposes. Everything after that should be fine.
