    Behind-the-page: Relapse

    Hiya, lovely peeps!

Welcome to Behind-the-page, the series where I give you background information on my newest release. On today’s spotlight, we have: Relapse!

So, first story on the year on the tail end of April. Suppose I’m going to be a little slow on stories this year as compared to last year. But no matter.

The Absolute Best of Heartstrings - Shelf 1

    Hiya, lovely peeps!

I love the written word. I love books and fanficiton and blogs; I just love reading in general. When I first picked up reading in 2016, I expected stories to be just that - stories. There’s a plot, characters do this and that, reach climax and end plot. I didn’t know that ‘themes’ and ‘depth’ and ‘feels’ were ever in those stories.

I’ve never been glad to more wrong.

A beautiful poem · 4:06pm Aug 14th, 2020

Hiya, lovely peeps!

I just wanted to share a poem with all of you. Itʼs written by a dear friend of mine. Enjoy.

The skin you inhabit is a sacred physical vessel for your soul.
So, be gentle towards your body; it keeps you alive every day.
And I know there are days where itʼs difficult to look in the mirror and smile,
We all struggle with insecurities at times.
Itʼs so easy. To glance at our reflection and think,
“I look like a mess today.”
“I donʼt feel beautiful.”

There are days where itʼs a little harder to love ourselves,
The days where our insecurities get louder.
Where our intrusive thoughts keep replaying again and again in our head.
It can be hard to silence our irrational minds.
Truth is: itʼs lying to you most of the time.
Itʼs your ego acting up;
Feeding you lies that you need to look or act different to be worthy of love.

But listen to me.
You were created from the very essence of love.
And all those insecurities you have?
They are beautiful flaws that make you human.
You are a divine being,
Alive in this home of flesh for a temporary time on this magical blue planet.
You are part of nature,
When you see a cute flower by the roadside,
When you notice a rainbow in the sky,
Or when you see love in an animalʼs eyes.

May you always remember that:
Beauty is your birthright.
