Pause in writing + A LONG overdue laptop fix? · 2:30am Jul 28th, 2020
Heya, fellow fanfic readers!
So, I know I should continue writing A Herd of Ponies and Ungulates, and I've been making progress. However, I kinda have the ol' good news and bad news situation.
Lemme start with the bad news first: I'm super busy backup-ing my laptop just in case, and because the cause is a bit sudden, I got to copy a lot of stuff, and I mean a lot. That means I'm pushing my laptop to copy a lot of stuff at the same time to make up time. I also save some files into Google Drive, which is the same place I wrote my fics if they're still in progress. This, combined with the unstable internet my country is getting, made the process long, and gives a risk of Google Drive not saving the progress on my fic. Unfortunately, this will mean my writing will slow to a crawl, if now stop completely until the process is done.
The good news, however, is after a LOT of convincing and negotiation with my brother and my parents, it seems that finally, finally, my laptop will get a thorough fix, things like switching my HDD to SSD and such. The thing is, we feel like we're gonna need a new up to date laptop for my brother (Currently he has a... possibly 10 year old Acer Aspire 5920 with a 32 bit system, that's ANCIENT). However, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the prices for laptops skyrocketed way beyond our budget to the point that a laptop with a considerably lower specs then mine costs the same.
With a new laptop seems out of reach, our plan is to stick with mine and upgrade it, which should be cheaper. Of course, that's where the backup comes in, because even now, I'm still not 100% sure what the problem in my laptop is. We might have to expand more costs if the damage is more severe then we thought, but it should still be cheaper then getting a new one. Finger's crossed that it's nothing extremely serious.
Though, if we managed to fix it, my brother will use my laptop for school if he needs it. So, in that case it's no longer my laptop, but... our laptop?
Anyway, even if we won't get a new laptop, a complete fix and upgrade of my current one already made me so happy~ So, forgive if I once again proven to be a slow and lazy writer 
I promise A Herd of Ponies and Ungulates will be finished!

I completely understand. I appreciate the explanation. Just get it done when you can. Real life matters need to come first, after all.
And mentioning both Twilight and Oleander? That already gives me a good clue on which will be the next ones to meet. :-D Though, I'll admit I COULD be wrong.
