Third Installment Hangups · 8:34pm Jul 22nd, 2020
So, some of you may know about this, but I've had a third story pecking at my brain since I finished the sequel. (In hindsight, it could have been done better. I was just in the mode of "just get it done so you don't have to think about it much more".)
You're probably thinking, "Well what's the holdup? You promised us this ages ago. Sounds like you're full of crap."
Maybe I am, who knows. I truthfully do want to get this one written, but there's been large roadblocks.
There's no significant shortage of ideas for the story, but there's something else to consider: this will likely be a 15k+ word count with the setting. Spit-balling ideas can go fairly quick with someone on a similar brainwave, but committing it to draft is time-consuming. Top that off with the fact that I can't justify an editor, it's a slow process.
Veterans of the site will probably just think I'm griping, but there's some reason behind it. I don't see myself posting any more major stories after this one. There were ideas, but I ended up abandoning them for lack of a plan. Fanfiction isn't a big enough deal to me to stay with it. To be honest, a lot of other things will take priority over fiction.
Which leads to the largest block: I basically work two full-time jobs at the moment. The one that's on the books isn't all that bad, but the second job is more complicated: family farming. About every minute of dry weather that I'm not on the clock in town, I'm usually in the field.
(Oh look, speak of the devil...)
Take your time. You have a life and deserve to live it. Only a select few can actually make something resembling a career out of writing fan fiction.

Fanfiction was never intended to be a career. Just some story ideas that I couldn't find on the site, figured I may as well do it.
You can blame it all on my roots.
Good things are worth waiting for!
