The Reign of Darkness in Equestria - Harmoniaverse · 10:16pm Jun 19th, 2020
A sign of things to come for Equestria, mild spoilers for the inevitable finale of the story, and a follow-up to MLP: The Light of Harmonys Hope - Midnight Castle
Let's just say the Windigoes are the LEAST of Equestria's worries, now.
Following the demise of Canterlot Castle, the escape of Dusk Shine, and the capture of the remainder of his friends, Lord Tirek and his Legion of Doom decide now is the time to cement their lordship over Equestria. And they choose to do this - or rather, Tirek himself, chooses to do this in the most poetic sense he can think of. And it starts with an invasion of Ponyville, who was in a complete panic because of everything going on. Dusk, Sunset and Scorpan's presence didn't help ease the tension as Cloudsdale sealed itself off, and only left further disdain from the earth ponies, who were now demanding Dusk to fix this issue he knew nothing about. Sadly, before he could do anything, the shadow of Tirek's warship, The Trident of Retribution (because it is a Nemsis Warship that crashlanded on Equestria before the first age of equestria came to be, which had somehow transwarped into this universe without any of its occupants (they abandoned ship like in G1), and was eventually found by The Storm King, who reverse-engineered its technology with the available resource Equestria had, and built his airships based on it), moving overhead with the Armada of Shadow and Lightning right behind. Next thing you know, missiles are being launched onto the helpless town, and the forests surrounding it, and hordes of Tiracians are being sent down to harvest the ponies. It's only thanks to Dusk, Sunset, and Scorpan's powers combined that they're able to send the occupants to safety in The Sacntuary of Friendship in the Everfree Forest via portal magic. Afterwards, they have to fight their way through the Tiracians to safety, just as Tirek and his Legion of Doom beams down. While his cohorts wreak havoc on the town, and even the School, Tirek has his sights set on a bigger prize. The thing which will allow him to cement his lordship over Equestria forever.
The Castle of Friendship.
With both his powers, and Emperor Grogar's powers combined, they begin a terraforming process to transform the castle to the Dark Lord's preference. Gathering the remains of Canterlot Castle, disassembling both Discord-Grogar's lair, and the ruins of Midnight Mountain, they tear the Castle of Friendship apart, and they begin the alchemical process of deconstruction being followed by RE-construction. The fragments of these fortresses are conglomorated into a horrifying castle that looks more like a massive mashing of blades, and spears than a castle. The Heartstone is lowered inside as a volcanic shaft is opened by laser drill means, and left to hang above the great shaft of this new castle. A few more minutes later, and the center of Tirek's empire was finished. And a good thing, too, as The Great Conjunction was upon them. Soon the red, and purple suns would again pass over Equestria, and briefly line up with Equestria's sun to shine their light upon the world and replenish its own lifespan. With his powers greatly enhanced by The Bewitching Bell, and The Argent power harvested from the souls of the legion's victims, combined with the alicorn sister's magic now in his grasp, he would ensure that the suns would align above this castle so that he may cotinue what his ancestor began, and draw on the power of the heavens to become a Primordial as he uses The Dark Crucible to corrupt the world, and turn all that lives into Tiracian slaves, while the light of the sun, and the souls of the damned would fuel him to omnipotence........along with the alicorn and chaos magic held in the bell. The time of friendship and harmony had reached its end. Here, as the centerpiece of Equestria's unity burned in the shadows of Lord Tirek's evil, The Age of Darkness would begin in this foresaken province, bearing the only name fitting for its master.
The Midnight Castle.
Okay, I actually laughed at that. That IS clever, and the way the castle looms over a darkened, flaming ruin of Ponyville like the Castlevania kinda gives off the game vibe, doesn't it? Pending the years "Castlevania" and "The Dark Crystal" came out, it be awesome if the Skeksis castle was at least PARTIAL inspiration for it. I mean, come on: the place screams "other-worldly dracula's magic castle", doesn't it? Especially when it's flashing in the darkness by lightning strikes.:D
STOP IT! STOP DESTROYING! ;-;
Is the Young Six going to fight Tirek in a chapter?

It's par for the course, since they ARE the new Elements of Harmony. I mean, they already faced him once in "The Price of Freedom" when they were holding what were basically prototypes for the new elements, and drove him away. Now they'll have to be ready to face him again, same as the Mane Six. The keepers of harmony, and the embodiment of anarchy are drawn to each other like magnets in the never-ending war for balance. The student six are simply the new players.

Stop destroying?! ARE YOU MAD?! Destruction is in my very being, as the proprietor of evil! ANd destruction is ALWAYS inevitable in war: the question is can you find the power to survive it? Or will all perish in darkness in flame?

Sorry for the delayed response, I mean like they are going to fight him without assistance from Mane Six, Scorpan, Discord or any of the other characters? Like a showdown at the Treehouse of Harmony?

Hardly. He's EVERYONE'S enemy, not just the main and student six. So odds are almost everyone is going to fight him at some point. But the kids WILL get help when they fight him: especially during the final battle of the series. I can't explain it fully, but to answer your question, the student six won't be alone in facing the Master of Midnight.
