Don't Tweet It! · 10:21pm Jun 9th, 2020
So I recently learned that actor Hartley Sawyer who plays Ralph Dibney/Elongated Man on the CW's "The Flash" was fired from the show for posting several racist and misogynistic comments on Twitter. All I have to say about that is that if you have thoughts like that, have the decency and commen sense to keepmthem to yourself. DO NOT post them online for everyone to see, especially when you're working for a network that is big on promoting feminism and minority groups. That should just be common sense, but I guess that virtue is in short supply these days.
What an idiot. It is bad enough racism still exists in our modern world, but being dumb enough to post it on Twitter? I know that the internet can go crazy over anything these days but people need to have some tact and humanity. It is times like this I am glad I don’t follow stuff like Twitter.
except he didnt post them while working for dc he wrote them 12 years ago being a edgelord making dark jokes.
thing is he said this crap 8 years ago
i want to believe he had changed since then
was he stupid for posting that shit oh hell yes did he deservet o get punched in the face at the time of posting it hell yes (as far as i know he wasnt just saying)
but as far as i know he was not doing that stuff today
we have to forgive people for mistakes of the past
again as far as i know he was not like that anymore

I barely even use Facebook, and right know, I'm kind of glad about that.

That’s horrible in an entirely different way. The prospect of someone's career being ruined by something they said at at time when they could have feasibly been considered a different person than who they are now is actually rather frightening, and makes me even more glad that I never got into social media.
That said, if this happened that long ago, than why are they only making a fuss over it now?

some random person dug the tweets up
its the same thing that happened to james gunn over guardians of the galaxy
odds are its once again a right winger trying to make the left look bad
sadly unlike with guardians of the galaxy i dont see a rehiring happening do to the rapid production of a tv series
IMO in cases like this his cast mates should have been talked to both the ones on and off the set to find out if there have been any issues
that would not 100% prove his innocence sure but well we have no accusations against him on anything just stuff he once said and no proof he still says it so if his cast mates are fine with him then its safe to ASSUME its in the past
