We've got a long way to go -- But here's a fun way to help! · 6:01pm Jun 6th, 2020
I'm not going to claim that things are in any way "normal," now, or even that the "old normal" is something we should be striving for.
And, y'know, I still don't know if I can write silly pony fic right now. But at least I have slightly LESS of a sense of existential dread right now-- not to mention the fact that it looks like protest action around the world is beginning to have SOME effect for the better (though we really need to keep going).
But also-- who likes video games? Or tabletop games! Or just cool indie stuff in general?
Because itch.io is putting on the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality and it is INSANE. In a good way! For a minimum $5 donation, you get access to 742 different indie games and projects. Because screw your to-play pile, that's why!
To be honest, I don't know a damn thing about most of the video games featured-- but on the tabletop side of things, you've got some GOLD.
LANCER, the gorgeously-illustrated mecha RPG.
Blades in the Dark, that fantasy heist game everyone keeps talking about.
Glitter Hearts, a magical girl RPG (I bet there's a pony hack floating around somewhere already)
Visigoths vs. Mall Goths, which is about ... well, right what it says on the tin.
And that's just from my random clicking around! There's still another 738 games of various types to dig through!
Seriously, if you've got 5 bucks and you want to help, it's well worth checking out.
A quick glance through shows it's got Oxenfree, Night in the Woods, Super Hexagon and Bonbon, and those are all pretty highly regarded! Wow.
Wow. There's a lot in here.
Well, at least now I have another person I can blame for my writing procrastination.
Hooray for getting cool stuff for a good cause!
Well, that's a nice bonus, at least. I... may have spent more than the minimum.
