So..... I am not sure how to start this blog entry, because this is hard..... While I also don't want to make it too dramatic (I technically did this in a private conversation already and that didn't bring good things), because nothing here is lost forever. So, what are the right words to say this?
"My Little Pony: Guardians of Crystal Growth" is..... cancelled? No, that's too harsh of a word choice, cause it's only half-true.
Delayed? No. That, on the other hoof, sounds too optimistic. Postponed, perhaps? That sounds cool, because it has "Pone" in it. But it's also too optimistic.
Still being worked on? Yeah, now we're getting somewhere. That is much better. Although still not 100%.....
Sent back to the drawing board? Now, that is good! Let's see..... It is not cancelled, but delayed or postponed are terminologies that are too optimistic in nature for the change that is happening here. And the work will continue, so it is sent back to the drawing board..... Perfect! I think I got what I need to say this properly!

"My Little Pony: Guardians of Crystal Growth" is postponed until I have worked on it much more and got the project into a better shape and the current release is, therefore, cancelled until the show will one day return as something that is better prepared and more fun to watch.

Damn it, now I said the word anyway..... Least, it is not a permanent cancellation, but only a temporary one. However long that temporary state will last is impossible to predict, but "My Little Pony: Guardians of Crystal Growth" will return in new glory one day.
The reason for this calamity (without any bread, sadly) is, simply put, I had to discover that I am not ready for this yet. Without going into too much detail (and spoilers), "My Little Pony: Guardians of Crystal Growth" relies on a huge cast of ponies and creatures in the way I envision it. As such, I want the cast as diverse as it can possibly be, which means that, naturally, I want to include a lot of background ponies and background creatures in the show. You can already see that in what I released so far, with Pinot Noir and Laguna having roles/appearances in Episode 4 "Bread and Calamities".
There are many background ponies and creatures who I, as I had to learn a few days ago, don't know nearly as well as I thought I do.
As a result, mass-analyzing all of them is a task so time-consuming that there is no time to do that if I want to continue the current release of "My Little Pony: Guardians of Crystal Growth".
The plan was to get the entire show ready, with a fully-written bible including an episode list for each season (as opposed to only Season 1) and a complete character list and I was planning to do all that from the beginning of January to April 18th, the planned launch of the show. That launch was met, although narrowly so, but the character list is far from ready. Last Saturday, I had to discover that there is simply not enough time to plan the cast of the show further and to keep releasing episodes at the same time. Season 2 and everything beyond it would be a cluttered and rushed mess if I were to push on now for the sake of keeping the show running.
And with that, it comes with a heavy heart (and that is not just a cliched phrase, my heart really does feel very heavy right now) that I have to announce that "My Little Pony: Guardians of Crystal Growth" will not continue for the time being and not before we are far into the future. I attempted a release too early, while I am still not ready to fully stem such a massive project.
The work on it, however, will not stop. I will keep working more on future episodes and seasons and on the cast of it, while I get to know many ponies and creatures better than I know them now, and will keep following my original plan with it.
And while that is happening, I will have to do something else that I thought I'd never do, except for cancelling something I released, I will have to make the show private. I want to inspire with my work and now, in the climate of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic having just ended, I feel that constantly seeing a cancelled Generation 5 and sequel to Generation 4 in my story list would be devastating for the overall fandom morale. So it is best to hide the show until it returns.
For everyone who wants to keep what is written so far, though, I will give you roughly two weeks to download and save what you like about it, until Saturday, June 20th at 8 AM EDT, before I revoke the submission of the show. After that, I can provide an archive of the current release for those who could not save it before June 20th, which will be shared in private only.
I cannot tell you a return date and the most negative from this development is probably that said return will not happen before a couple years from now have passed, but if you are interested in "My Little Pony: Guardians of Crystal Growth" based on what you have seen of it so far and are dedicated to it, the show will return for you one day and you will be rewarded for your long wait.
And with that, the second chapter (some of you might remember that I was inspired to this show in 2018 and that I wrote rougher versions of the first two episodes already two years ago) in the development of "My Little Pony: Guardians of Crystal Growth" is closed. Chapter 3 will start right away, as I keep working on it, and even though you won't see anything of that for a while, I want to think of a way to provide you with updates on the project without spoilering the show.

I know about this method, but that's unfortunately not the problem I'm facing here. The problem is rooted in it that I lack knowledge about too many background ponies and creatures to form a reliable and strong cast of secondary characters for it. It's nothing that can be fixed by writing chapters ahead of time, sadly.

Not when I publish one episode each week, which is needed for this project to make sense. Sorry, this show really has to go on indefinite hiatus, until I am ready for another attempt. I might be able to present another adventure of Applebloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle soon. Can't tell specifics yet, but there is another project I have about them that sleeps for a long time and that I want to bring back.
