It's been a rough year, hasn't it? Tensions between countries is high, political correctiveness is dominating our lives, almost certainly culminating in a 1984-esque regime. And, of course, there's the Corona Virus outbreak. Honestly, things are pretty scary right now. As for me? Well, there's something that I've been grappling with for a long time now, a secret that has been plaguing me day and night and has put a wedge between my family and I and is causing me to lose friends. You'd think that in today's more (aggressively) accepting climate that I could just climb out of my hiding spot and get this thing off my chest and you'd be right. However, it was more to how I saw myself rather than how others saw me and made it difficult to talk about.
Ever since I was sixteen, I knew that I was different. I didn't act like the other kids but I did my damn best to be like them. Sadly, this just resulted in me feeling more isolated and alone. It was difficult to try to juggle two lives and I tried to make it work but years of it just made me exhausted, both physically and emotionally. After years of soul-searching, I can safely say that I finally have found my true self and am ready to claw my way out of the shadows and stand proudly in the light. I want to share this with all of you, my fellow Fimfiction readers and writers.
Okay, brace yourselves. I'm going to finally be honest with everyone about who I truly am.
